Crunch Gyms Corporate Office Comments

Member at crunch boise where I have complained numerous times about cleanliness and recently the facility was identified as cause of Legionaries disease outbreak. I would like a response from corporate as to the status and corrective actions taken to ensure that this facility is safe.

Terrible experience with the Daytona Beach facility. Employees are not supported by manager and not properly handling billing issues. Unacceptable conversation with manager at this faculty and my account is not being corrected!!!! Please note follow up is not happening and good customer relations are failing! Sad for this locations front end employees that are having to deal with unavailable management!!!!!

I have complained about the Fairless Hills, PA gym being filthy and no one cares in management there or at corporate. Corporate told me it's a franchise and they can't control that and that a regional manager would contact me. No one has. I even submitted pictures of the rest room and water fountains.

What a disgrace. I have been told since July 2022 that the Crunch Fitness in Fairless Hills Pa will be getting all new equipment and renovated. It is now the middle of October and the machines are falling apart the gym is dirty, and of course you do not get a straight answer from any of the employees. I saw someone holding on for dear life as the stair climbing machine would not stop. I have reported many times about machines not working and still in service. I have many pictures of the disgusting dirty bathrooms month to month looking the same. The excuse for that was they are working on looking for a cleaning service. If this was Philadelphia you would be shut down.

I use the crunch fitness gym in deptford NJ. I have been coming here for a few months. I have never seen a gym so dirty in my life. I actually don't come here as often as I would like because I am so grossed out by how unsanitary this gym is. The womens locker room is so gross. The sauna worked for the first week or two and has been out of order since. Please please someone needs to fix the issues here with the cleaning service. It is awful!! Just sad.

Underage Fraud. During Spring Break 2022, three teenagers walked into Eagle Crunch and requested one day passes. Preston Elliott (the District Manager) took them into an office and provided membership deals to the boys. None of the boys wanted memberships and felt pressured by Preston. During his sales presentation, Preston did not ask for their ages or ID.
Preston signed all three boys on the Month to Month membership using my son's debit card for the monthly billing for all three boys. In early May, three charges for $21.99 hit mine & Hunter's bank account. I called and spoke to Tristan (manager) and he cancelled Hunter's membership but could not cancel the other two boys, even though I provided their full names. In early June, we had two more charges for $21.99 go through his bank account (our joint account). The following day, two more charges for $53.99 each went through for annual dues. After one visit to the gym and MANY phone calls--I was denied a refund for the membership dues or the annual fees.
My complaint is to notify you that Crunch allows MINORS to enter into legal contracts and Preston Elliott committed FRAUD by entering birthdates for all three boys as: October 11, 1995. (Real ages: 16 years).
Crunch has informed me an email was sent to their staff to stop signing up minors. I would like to mention in the terms of their contract, it states you must have parental permission to sign any member under the age of 18 years. I am concerned this practice will continue. In closing, I would like a refund because you cannot expect children to entire into contracts (and make payments on said contract). Thank you.

I need to speak to someone higher up we have had crunch for like 6 mos to a year and the entire time my billing has been incorrect I signed up for 10 membership on a 5 cent enrollment sale and immediately my billing problems started I told Tom Lakewood ranch I only wanted the cheapest one he kept trying to upscale me with personal trainers and immenaties and I was very clear I did not want that now 6 months later and 2 tries of canceling 28 dollar memberships I'm finally canceled my membership 3 weeks ago which I had to deal with while at my fathers funeral ridiculous!!!!!! And now today they charged my card again

I signed up at the Tampa Palms location in April. Shortly after, I relocated to the Denver metropolitan area. I was hoping to use my membership in Denver, however, I was repetitively told that I could not bring a guest until I cancelled my membership in Tampa and started one in Denver. At a different gym in Denver, I was told I could only bring a guest once despite my membership-type allowed me to bring guests.

Ultimately, I decided to cancel my membership and join VASA fitness. I called in June to ensure I could do that and was told to call again at the end of the 90 days. I called again on July 1st (90 days after my sign-up) and was told to have a friend come to the facility anytime during the month to cancel. I had a friend come to the facility at the end of the month to find out I would be charged a 30-day penalty. This could have been avoided if the employees I spoke with in June and again on July 1st would have written a note in my account stating that I had already approached them about my cancellation. The gym manager, Kirstey, was extremely rude and unhelpful throughout the whole process and the regional manager did not help either. My additional fee could have been avoided if the gym staff took their time to write a note in my account. Additionally, I find that having somebody come to the facility in person to cancel a membership is a ridiculous practice. The staff should be more upfront about their practices and, if not resolved by corporate, I will escalate this issue with the better business bureau.

I highly advise to join a different gym, especially if you are traveling often and planning to use your membership in a different state. What they advertise does not reflect the truth.

In California Crunch has explicitly said they will not comply with the mask mandate. Why is this? Do they really hate their members that much?

Mgmt at Lakewood Ranch Location are horrible!!!!

I'm not even sure if you are the right people to provide this information to. But I'm gonna send it to whom ever I need to.

I opened a membership at the Lakewood Ranch location in Florida in 2018 when it opened I also purchased sessions for private training. I stopped coming to you all shortly after I bought the membership due to my personal trainer having me do things that unfortunately hurt me. I've been paying for my membership every month. I just spoke to Tom who is the rudest nastiest assistant manager that you could ever ask for. All he did was talk over me. He got louder and louder on purpose. I left a message for Matt who is the Mgr over personal training 2 weeks ago and he never bothered to respond...Ignoring me pissed me off....
I have 10 sessions left from my personal training. They have expired which I didn't know they had an experation date, and Covid was last year. I never heard from anyone at the gym... your company will call if there is a billing issue quick, but it never occurred to call customers that stopped coming....I'm asking for a refund for the 10 sessions I did not use and Tom who was nasty and told me he will honor them if I come back!!!!
There is no way I would ever come back to Crunch. You are lucky I didn't get an attorney. My 10 sessions need to be refunded.
Your Mgmt team at this location are a bunch of kids that don't know how to manage.. They have a title that's gone to their head...I need resolution....

Hello, I want to complain about the LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL location! The customer service sucks and they do not care if one gets charged late fee after late fee. I've made multiple attempts to contact them to pay my past due bill that some how stopped being billed on auto pay and to cancel my membership ASAP but with no contact! They keep sending the same automated email saying I have to pay . How am I supposed to when NO one from this location will contact me back!!!! I will not be telling any of my friends or family to join crunch but I'm sure I'm just another number to you all ! I need to speak with corporate executives at Thai point because I'm extremely upset and frustrated with the lack of support I've received!! Thanks

I had an unpleasant experience at this Crunch Fitness location.

On November 30th, 2020, I signed up for a peak membership. I was then encouraged to do four months of once-a-week one-hour sessions with a personal trainer. I had a fine experience with my trainer for four months, but I was advised to cancel before the fourth month ended because Crunch will continue to charge and schedule your training sessions until you request cancellation.

On March 23rd, I asked a front desk employee how I should go about canceling my training sessions, and I was given an email address to which I should send a cancellation request.

On March 26th, I sent an email to both manager@crunchnorthriver... and [email protected] requesting that my training sessions be canceled; 20 minutes later, I received a call from Robert, the manager, informing me that he had received my email and that he would forward it to Zak Meza, the Head Coach, who oversees the training sessions.

I figured my cancellation request was successful as I was only charged $14.99 for my peak membership and not $199 for the training sessions on April 1st, but then I was charged $199 on April 8th. That same day, I called Zak Meza to ask why I was still being charged. Zak Meza replied that he was unaware of my cancellation request and that there was nothing he could do to refund the money, but that I could save those sessions for a later time, and then sent me an email confirming that my training had been canceled and there will be no additional charges. I was able to file a dispute with my bank and get my money returned. I also confirmed with my trainer that I canceled because we had stopped scheduling our training sessions.

On April 27th, I was charged $199 for the second time in one month. I was confused as to why I was still being charged despite all of the steps I took to cancel the first time, so I called my bank again, and this time they disabled my card which was unfortunate because I was leaving town that weekend and needed access to my money. Right after I got off the phone with my bank I called Crunch to speak with Robert, the manager, but the front desk staff informed me he was talking with a customer and put me on hold, then minutes later advised me to call back because he was still talking, so I left work early to speak with Robert in person instead. I saw Robert standing near the front desk when I arrived at Crunch, so I waited for him to finish his conversation. When he did, I introduced myself and asked if we could talk about my cancellation request, as well as reminding him that we had previously discussed the same topic on the phone.

Before I could even explain the situation to Robert, he had an unfriendly tone in his voice and kept interrupting me, claiming that he had no idea who I was and that he had never received an email or phone call from me. I tried to clarify that I had been attempting to cancel my contact, but Robert interrupted me once more, saying, "What are you talking about? We don't do contracts." I replied, "You guys don't do contracts for training sessions?" Robert then says, "Oh, I thought we were upset about your $14.99 membership." That remark made me feel upset and belittled, so I told him his communication ethics needed to improve, which exasperated him and he asked me to leave and have a good day. Robert proceeded to tell me that he would not be assisting me while I stood there. To get him to talk to me, I had to speak to him like a child. I suggested that we start over and get this situated. Robert eventually agreed to talk with me and review my account. Robert said he'd take it up with corporate and get back to me because he couldn't clarify why I was being charged $199 repetitively. Before ending our discussion, Robert tells me that in his 35 years as a manager, he has never been attacked in the way I "attacked" him. After 35 years of management experience, you should know how to deal with dissatisfied customers, in my opinion.

While no one from Crunch has contacted me as of May 3rd, my paid training sessions are being canceled, and my bank has notified me that Crunch is still attempting to charge my disabled debit card. I also called and emailed Crunch Headquarters, but I have not heard back.

My trainer told me via text that Robert her manager threatened her by saying she wouldn't be paid if I got my money back. This was a very unpleasant experience in which I was disrespected, belittled, and SCAMMED for $398 within one month. For me, my family, and friends, Crunch Fitness will no longer be our gym of choice. Our memberships have all been immediately canceled

I have worked for pinnacle fitness, bally, gorrilla sports and crunch. I have loved working for Crunch for many years. I looked forward to continue with the company. I went in for an interview this morning at union street club . I thought I was offered the front desk but the manager said housekeeper. I don't mind but I REALLY wanted my club I worked in for 23 years. Alhambra is my club loved the location it large roomy and with a lot of space. I met the manager for Polk street Breeanna. Everything changed she gave me housekeeper not front desk opener. Housekeeper at union street in San Francisco. The space is super small the music is on all the time right above the front desk. It's not the same job I had. First she said front desk opener the she says housekeeper .

I want to complain about the manager in north Bergen New Jersey,he was so rude and also treated me.he tell me I'd gonna wait for me outside, only because he asked me to put my mask on,but when he ask me I was drinking water and wearing my earphones,he give me attitude and tell me to don't come back to the gym

You may find this disturbing, but as a senior member , I find it very upsetting that when I joined I was told that you have a silver sneakers or similar membership available for older members. I had joined back about 6 months ago and now when I went to switch over they told me that you don't have that plan. I got very upset and feel as though I was scammed into joining. Ten dollars a month and a maintenance fee may not seem like allot of money, but to a senior living on a fixed income it is.

I want to give a complaint on the Crunch in Lancaster, PA. The manager was rude and I never got the info that I was getting charged an extra15.00 fee every time they take money out my card. My membership is 29.99 and thats it. During this time , they shouldn't be charging no fee at all. This is to expensive for a middle class person. I will never go back to Crunch for being irresponsible and un educated people there. I want to cancel and go to another gym. Hoping they dont keep charging me and if they do I will go beyond and sue for taking money without permission. Employees need to learn how to explain the things the way it is.. I meann all the fees

I'm having problems with the crunch fitness on eagle, Idaho. I ask the front desk rep about cancellation of my membership before the ten days that I didn't know about. The rep told me something different and when I went to cancel my membership, I found out it was the total opposite. Now they told me it was a miscommunication that it happen. Which is not my fault and they make it seems like it's my fault that I went to get an answer for question and got an answer by one of their employees that was false. Can you please help me?

Unethical practices at the lake nona Florida facility. I placed my membership on hold in writing and they are still taking dies out my account. Management has decided to not address the issue and would rather that I cancel and leave the club. Was ok with me filing a complaint with Corp. That even told me too. They could care less. Do not do business with these folks.

Hi, Crunch member #OP119365. On the Crunch website, it says that masks and gloves are optional however the Oakland Park club refuses to honor that and insist on members wear a mask while working out and gloves while in the Hiit Zone.

Today while discussing this with the OP GM he wasn't aware of what is says on Crunch's website and tried to tell me that's not his website.

I've asked a couple times for clarification a couple of times via email through the Crunch website however no one has responded.

If you could offer clarification on the subject I would greatly appreciate it.
