I have had terrible experiences with Harry and David for the past few years. My late husband and I have used Harry and David for many years, but the past few years have been frustrating. I wasted 2 hours on the phone and the order is still misspelled and wrong, after using customer service on the phone from Jamaica and India. They misspelled my name, the name of my recipients, and the greetings.
This will be my last time using Harry and David
I ordered a gift box that I needed to be delivered to a family member following a sudden death. When I placed the order I made it clear how important the delivery date was-- and I payed the extra cash to ensure this...but instead I was lied to about the delivery not once, not twice but three times. The customer service people constantly apologized but never fixed the problem. I have been a long time customer and this was unexpected. I would rather have had the customer service person tell me the truth--that they could not deliver the box as promised--than lie. The family never got the gift. Don't order if the delivery date matters....because it clearly does not matter to the folks at Harry and David.
I would like to report that my husband's stepmother
recived her package Cristmas Eve. This was
wonderful news! She lost her son to cancer two
weeks ago so we really wanted to send something
to her by Christmas as a little surprise. I don't
know how it was accomplished. Maybe Rick
able to reach Fed Ex.. It meant a lot to our family
this year for gifts to arrive by Christmas. Thank you

I have been a loyal customer for over fifteen years. All of my
family members have been thrilled with their gifts. I have never
had any problems and all my gifts have been on time. This
year was the first time there have been any glitches. Fed Ex. the shipping
service stated my gifts will arrive after Xmas. I was kindly listened to
by the order service worker and then asked to speak to his supervisor. I
spoke to Rick and he patiently listened to my concerns. Due
to a death in our family and additional members who
are seriously I'll it was unusually important for my gifts to
arrive on time. I do not know if my gifts will arrive on time or not.
Rick offered to send an apology to my family members if the gifts
arrived late. While this is a kind offer I did not think it would
be helpful. I instead asked him to follow up w/ Fed Ex and
find out what happened. I just don't want the same thing to happen
to someone else or have the reputation of this wonderful company damaged.
When I find out what happened I will let everyone know. Please note I
was distraught, but it is my hope that this problem will be
resolved. All the Harry and David employees were unfailingly kind and
professional. I am still rooting for Harry and David.

I purchased the Harry & David Cranberry Apple Stuffing Mix to serve with our Thanksgiving dinner. I followed the package directions and taste tested before serving. WOW! to my surprise this prduct was AWFUL!!!!! It was very salty/peppery and there were no signs of cranberries let alone apples. I can't even begin to describe how terrible it tasted. I was so embarassed. The guests were all seated, other food prepared and ready to serve and no stuffing as I threw it in the garbage. I wouldn't feed the product to an animal that is how awful it tasted.
I purchased the product from the Harry/David store in Deerpark, Illinois a week before Thanksgiving so it's not like I purchased it a year ago and just now am serving the product. I am truly disapointed in this product and will never purchase it again and I will make sure that I mention this to my friendds so that they don't waste their money purchasing a product below standard in taste.
