My Maytag top loading washing machine is 2 weeks old and stopped working. Maytag stands by parts only and doesn't care how long it might take to fix this defective machine. I will never buy Maytag ever again.

Posted by Grand Manor Texas

I think I am like many other loyal Maytag owners previous long history users. My family has used a number of Maytag machine over the years.
We run a small boutique hotel on Galveston Island.
In our last series of washers , they were the Grade commercial grade and worked flawless less every day 7 days a week without a single repair .
Having just purchase a new commercial grade high capacity washer , I am very disappointed . The machine is continually out of round, in its first year needed extensive repair which was a very lengthy parts and repair ordering process out of Houston.

The machine when is was working with load sensing water ltechnology barely added enough water to properly clean loads.

Our guest experience is everything and this new machine constantly let our down in the first year.

After 30 year multiple machines I am starting to re- think new brands as in our business the down time and extra costs for doing laundry out of house could have paid for a new machine in a week

I was hesitant to give up my old Maytag because it never let us down .
New machine are a different matter.

With all the new engineering and technology , I just wonder how so much effort, knowledge and tech can go into making such a bad and unreliable new product

I wanted to contact Maytag Corporate office to share that my husband and I moved into our home in 1984. A dear older couple had lived there and passed away. In the kitchen was a model A510 series 01 Maytag washer and dryer. They have operated flawlessly over the last 40 years with only 1-2 minor issues (i.e. replacing a lint screen). Just now the washing machine has developed a minor leak and a repairman suspects a seal in the drum may be the cause. We will be replacing them soon with great sadness. I wish I could get the washer repaired. They are important members of our family and they have served us so well. I just want to pay tribute to the quality of these fine appliances in days gone by and wish the same workmanship and quality were available today.

I am sorry to say that the washing machine I bought about 1 yr ago has been nothing but a big disappointment. The speed of the agitation is horrible. I spent 800.00 on a machine I can not stand. I am 80 yrs Old and have never been disappointed in any Maytag or whirlepool until now. I still have to go to the laundromat to wash my king size bed spread because it leaves soap scum on the spread. I have well water and am scared my well go dry to keep washing 2 times and sometimes that does not help. Lowe's will not take it back. Sometimes I think the clothes would come just as clean in the creek behind my house and a scrub board.??. PLEASE BRING BACK OLD MACHINES. I did love your product.

I am sitting on phone for over 20 minutes to speak to someone in customer service at your corporate office - after experiencing unsatisfactory service from your local agent.
I bought a new Maytag washing machine less than 4 years ago. The extended warranty ran out in November. The machine just died last week - a service person came out today and said one of the board's in the machine is not "talking" to the other board. No explanation for why this would happen. Estimated repair coast $700.00. This is ridiculous for a machine that i have had for such a short period of time.
And of course the board is not covered by the warranty....I will never buy another whirlpool or Maytag item again, and will be flooding my social media account with this story and ask if other people have had similar problems - and to do more efficient research before purchasing your products.

I agree with you DI from August 2020, Maytag is a JOKE!!!! Save your time and money and purchased from a company who knows how to treat their customers and make a solid product because Maytag isn't it!

So DISAPPOINTED in my purchase and experience dealing with your phone representatives. I purchased a Bravo Maytag washer in Nov 2019. Ten months later the entire motherboard went out. So I contacted the customer service number and after about 6-7 phone calls was offered a $75 gift card for the inconvenience of having to go to a laundromat for 6 wks and a 12 extended warranty agreement. I decided to call today and spoke to Darlene a Care Resolution Specialist because I had not received the gift card or heard back from anyone. She proceeds to tell me that there is no documentation as to the many calls that I placed to your company and refused to let me speak to her manager or anyone in the company above her. She is basically accusing me of being a liar when it's your company that has failed it's consumer. I will take my business elsewhere and you never have to worry about me purchasing another Maytag product which is your lose considering that I am purchasing a home soon and will be taking my business to GE or Samsung.

MAYTAG IS THE BEST!!
I purchased a Maytag washer and dryer in May 1987 from Marty, owner of Homestyle Appliance in Mount Kisco, New York. I had to replace the dryer about 6 years ago, but I STILL have the washer which is and has been used everyday usually 1 to 2 loads a day for the past 34 YEARS! It only needed 1 small repair, a $10.00 part which my husband replaced. I will literally cry when the time comes to replace it. It's a very simple machine, push buttons and dial, not the fancy computer operated machines of today that only last a few years. Thank you for making such a long lasting machine, I could do a commercial for you! I am 66 years old so I remember the commercials with The Maytag Repairman ?

Maytag, whirlpool is a joke. Will never ever buy any brand your company makes. I have been on hold for 1hr and 15 mins just today 8/27. Because your supervisor did not call in the correct work order for my washing machine. Yesterday I spent 1hr 30min on hold because your rep could not put in correct work order. What the xxx is going on with your company. And actually I hated the washer I bought from the first time I used it. I called and your company said oh sorry. Oh and by the way I'm still on hold for a manager

Bought a new electric Maytag stove that was delivered on June 2nd 2020. Only used the oven 8 or 9 times when the oven door wouldn't close. It looked like the hinge had bent on one side preventing the door from closing. This happened on July 30th. A repairman came on August 11th. Needed to order parts. Returned on August 18th. Replaced both door hinges. After he left I noticed when he put the door back together he didn't catch the molding on either side. Its just hanging there. Called the company. They can't come back until the 21st. In the meantime I have been unable to use my new oven for almost three weeks. I did not encounter rude customer service employees. The problem was it took over 30 minutes on the phone waiting for a chance to speak to someone. My problem is with the quality of the product. My Kenmore stove was 24 years old and I never had a problem with it. The burners finally wore out so I replaced it. I bought my new stove because it was a Maytag appliances. Big mistake. No more Maytag for me ever.

I bought a Maytag dryer on April 30, 2020 model # MEDC465HWO. It never got hot. Had to dry clothes twice. On July 1st it stopped drying and threw my breaker. Called the 1-800 number in my use and care guide book. Nothing but very rude people. Lady told me they had to send out a test for me to perform on my dryer before they would send anyone out. It took until July 24th before they sent Kens Appliance out. The guy was here 5 minutes and said it was our breaker. Ordered the new breaker July 25th and it installed July 27th still didn't work. Called the 1-800 number and had Kens Appliance come out August 4th. Guy didn't have the part on the truck. Said part will be ordered the next day and it would be in overnight. So here we are waiting again. I can honestly say I will never buy Maytag again. Sorry service and rude people who don't care.

We bought this Maytag Dishwasher on October 9, 2019. Due to the particulars of our installation (new power, water & drain line), we were not able to install it right away. If we had known how poorly it performs, we would have carted it straight back to Lowe's for a refund. As it was, the Lowe's warranty expired after 30 days and we were left at the mercy of the Maytag service department. Maytag Customer Service was of no help whatsoever, and the 10-Year Warranty holds no water when you actually have a problem. They offered to send a 3rd party technician to have a look, but if no apparent problem was found, we would have had to pay for the service visit (to the tune of ~$160). To be clear, the machine gives all impressions of "working": you load up some dishes, put in some detergent, press the little button, and away it goes. You can hear the hum and the splashing of the water inside, and it gives a little beep at the end of the cycle... but alas! Many dishes consistently come out dirty (even if we pre-wash by hand). The dishwasher is weak. The design is poor. And at this point we've thrown up our hands... we are unable to return or replace it, and can only hope to dissuade other consumers from making the same mistake. One day we'll get a new dishwasher to replace this debacle, and you can bet it won't be a Maytag.

I purchased a new Maytag washer and dryer from Lowe's that was delivered 01/14/2020.The dryer, MEDB765FW0. We use the Bounce Dryer Sheets but they keep getting jammed into the front slot near the lint screen. New parts W11086603 and W11129408 were ordered and placed in the dryer. After using the dryer with the new parts, the same thing occur again. So a third visit is scheduled but There is nothing more I can see that can be done. Do Not purchase this dryer, you will be sorry.

I would NEVER buy another maytag EVER! 1 1/2 years old and same part replaced 3times. Without a washer for at least 3 weeks to 1 month waiting for part and service to put it in. I called Maytag ,they won't do anything. Never so disgusted in my life with a product. After 3 times you think they would offer an alternative but no. Just sorry nothing we can do for you. Not being able to call corporate is just a bunch of bull! I truly believe they make washers and dryers not to last long so you have to buy a new one. There customer service SUCKS!!!!!

I have a Maytag stackable purchased approximately 15 years ago, if not longer. The washer has given out and now I'm unable to find one. By any miracle, and I emphasize miracle, do you happen to have one somewhere in the washer graveyards for me. Please call me. Thank you.

February 2, 2018 - BEWARE MAYTAG WASHER. they now need a dedicated circuit to run properly and the consumer is not being told. the customer service departments will not tell until there is a problem. the washer needs a dedicated circuit... I want a refund and my machine is only 4 months old. BEWARE MAYTAG WASHERS. (customer service is rude and even the corp executive offices customer service is rude) They do not want to tell the consumer this information. When they changed from Regular detergent to High Efficiency EVERYONE found out, but when the washers need dedicated circuits they don't say anything. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. my washer does not run properly.
BE AWARE AND BEWARE.

I can not receive a warranty plan through the mail unless I give a credit card or bank car no. I've had a plan sibce I purchased my side/side maytag and want to keep a plan coverage.I spent $1900.00 on refrigerator and #700.00 on a Maytag gas stove. Needless to say I"ve had identity theft 3 times.I was told by the Idenity Theft people not to give this information out,or allow anyone to take money out of my accounts.I have lived thirty five year's at same address and worked 25 year's at same place till I retired.I am' offended. The plan I have will expire on Feb. 3,2017 This has taught me a memorable lesson

I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer and dryer on 5/30/16. A week before Thanksgiving the washer stopped working. It didn't move past the sensing, the washer would fill up with water then not advance to wash cycle. I contacted customer service and waited 3 weeks for a service appt. On Dec 9, 2016 the Whirlpool service tech replaced the lid lock and the machine was working again; for 2 weeks. I scheduled another service call and the earliest appointment was 12/30/16. At which time the same service repair man replaced the control panel and check the tub for leaking water. He ordered a new air hose. The was not working when he left. He followed up with a service call on 1/12/17 and replaced the air hose. The washer still does not advance beyond sensing. He was here for 1 1/2 hours. He spoke to his technical supervisor who told him the dryer electrical circuit was interfering with the washer. I have had my washer and dryer side by side for 36 years without incident. At that time the service tech Carlos told me the washer was non-repairable and would contact the company for a replacement washer. I spoke to Customer Service who advised me that I was not eligible for a new washer as I hadn't bought an extended warranty for the washer. In my 42 years of marriage I have not had another washer serviced. My previous Maytag Bravos washer lasted 14 years. There are only my husband and I now, so my wash loads are much smaller than they were when we had our 3 sons living home. I have had to go to the coin laundry twice a week since Thanksgiving. I have received and email and mail asking us to extend our warranty. I guess the replacement policy is that if I spend more money on an extended warranty, our lemon washer would be replaced. If it was a new car that had to be serviced 3 times for the same issue, we would be protected under the lemon law. I have a Maytag gas stove and dishwasher. I would not consider a Maytag appliance again. I hope this reaches the proper channels as going through customer service and the customer service supervisor Michael have not brought me any resolution to my non-working 6 month old Bravos washer

I have a Maytag Washer and Dryer that I'm guessing is more than 45 years old and still working. I have been using both the washer and dryer on a weekly basis since 1999. My mother in-law bought these in the 1960's new. She passed away several years ago and the residence that they are in was used seasonally for about 10-15 years.
They are both in good condition and I'm writing now to see if Maytag would want to either buy them or exchange them for new ones because I think they would be great for advertising the Maytag product.

I bought a Maytag microwave a year and a half ago. After a few months my microwave was not working correctly, I had to keep opening and closing the door to get it to work. It was defective. They send someone to fix it.. They didn't, they send another repairman, again it wasn't fix, they send the same second repairman, it worked while he was here and so he said it was working. Again I called they send a third repairman. He couldn't fix it the first time or the second. He said he'd be back, but he never came... My warranty was over and the third repairman did something so now it stays on and I have to make sure I catch it, if not, it stayed on for a few hours before I caught it.. My microwave was defective from day one but they never fixed it or replaced it.. My refrigerator also doesn't work well, if I forget to check it, the door stays open. Very upset that they never fixed the problem and I'm stuck with a defective microwave!!!!

I purchased a Bravo Dryer 4 years ago. I have had a repair person almost every 6 months replacing the same part. Maytag has had me purchase extended warranties etc.. through out the time. Long story short - 6 months ago they sent someone out to AGAIN fix the dry and today the same part went out. This is a hunk of crap product, that they refuse to stand behind and get it working correctly. So today the call center in TN has been of no help and does not care about their customers and the products they support. Never buying a Maytag product again

I purchased a Maytag washer (MHWE201YW-3.5 CU FT WHT FRNT LD WSHR from Home Depot in December of 2012. I got exactly 1 year of use and then the washer stopped working. I called the Home Depot repair person who came and repaired the unit. The repair lasted two weeks and the washer stopped working again. Because the unit was no longer under its 1-yr warranty the Home Depot repair person was not available for repair. Another independent Maytag repair person came and evaluated to problem. He said the computer which is located on the motor was no good and to the tune of over $400.00 (parts and labor) a new motor was purchased and installed.

It lasted two months and it quit working again. After several months I was finally able to contact the original Home Depot repair person for one visit. He said he would check the code message and get back to me. I never heard from him again. I have been taking my laundry to the laundromat ever since and it is getting expensive. I don't want to spend another $400 on this machine as it will only break again. What do you recommend?

My only 4 year old Maytag Bravo washing machine has been declared non-repairable. It needs a new transmission and is too costly to repair. VERY disappointed, dismayed, and disgusted that Maytag has nothing to offer us but the discounted purchase of a machine based on their MSRP, making it no less costly to purchase from Maytag than from a retailer. If I am going to purchase another machine without any realistic assistance from Maytag, I will take my business and brand loyalty elsewhere. Shame on you Maytag. As I speak with others on social media, it is apparent that this is the way you do business. No wonder one retail store salesperson told me they only have 2 Maytag washers on the sales floor-nobody wants one!

I hope that someone is reading this website and responding to your customers. I purchased a Maytag double oven gas range 9 months ago. 2 weeks ago, the burners stopped igniting. Long story short, I have had 3 service calls that required my husband to take off from work, and none of them fixed the issue. In fact, the most recent visit made the problem worse since now the oven is broken as well. Two calls to the customer service hotline has resulted in nothing more than non-sincere "apologies." I was just informed that the part that is required is on back order and may not be available until March 11th, at which point I will be without a stove for 6 weeks. This is UNACCEPTABLE, especially considering that my appliance is 9 months old. Someone needs to care. This is wrong.

I have a Maytag washing machine. I'm on the third ATC/LS switch and each one is more expensive than the last. Next time it goes out will be the last time. It will go to the junk yard along with any chance of ever buying another Maytag.
That's what happens when a company sells Chinese parts. Never reliable again.

I built a commercial Coin Laundry in the late 90's and put in 20 Maytag top loaders. In 2013 it was time to begin replacing them and I started with 5 Model MVW18CSAWW top loaders. They have all been nightmares. Recalibration weekly, improper water levels, and computer board issues on all. What has happened to this company, their good name and product?

Posted by Reader 37

Kind sirs and madams,
It is sad to read these comments on the Corporate Office OWL this morning. It has been over a week since the service repairman came out to see about my Maytag washer. He said the parts would cost about $600.00 and that the Maytag company would have to approve these. I have a 5 year service plan, thank the good Lord. I have not heard back from anyone so far. I left an early morning message with the service provider, who has handled several issues since the purchase April 9, 2012.
I think it is time to call this machine a lemon and would like Maytag Corporation to send me a replacement that will live up to the Maytag reputation of good service. This is my beginning effort to cope with my problem. My first Maytag was bought in 1958 when I first married. I loved it. My new one has had unexpected difficulties. I know this can happen and I am not the only one, of course. My dear husband always handled these issues but he died after we had been married for 55 years. Now I am a 78 year old widow and must figure out these things for myself. Fortunately, after 33 years teaching elementary school students, I am a very patient person and also persistent. Sooner or later the right person will help me.
May God bless you and yours,

I am writing to you to inform you of my disappointment with my purchase of a MAYTAG refrigerator model# MRT 519 and the service provided by the Maytag dealer. The dealer name is Coastal Maytag located at 30459 Cedar Neck road Ocean View DE 19970. The owner name is Stanley Clark.

From the beginning of the process, we encountered issues with our purchase. We order the refrigerator on 5/26/2015. We scheduled the delivery for 4 weeks later on Saturday 6/27/2015. The residence where the purchase was made is a seasonal home. We travelled over four hours to the home for the delivery only to find out that the dealer order the incorrect color and did not have our refrigerator for delivery. Apparently the dealer did not check the order until the day of delivery.

Because of our insistence, the dealer tried to find an alternative from another store. He found a different model refrigerator, but because of the mistake, the regular installers were not available so the dealer sent people not qualified to do the install properly. We needed the doors to be reversed on the refrigerator. Eventually we learned that this was not done properly.

After the install, we noticed water leaking from the seals of the refrigerator. The dealer said the problem was from the seals not adhering to the frame properly caused by the door reversal. So they sent someone to use a hair dryer to heat the seals and then tape the doors shut for 2 hours.
The problem still existed. I called again and they sent a technician who realized the doors where not correctly installed. He attempted to adjust them.

The problem still occurs. When the technician arrived again. He noticed that the middle frame between the top freezer door and bottom door was cold. He said it should be warm or condensation will occur. So he said he would give the information to the owner and investigate further. We have not heard from them since. The owner has several times refused to call us back, he is ignoring us hoping we will give up because we are not around all the time. We have not heard from them in over three weeks.

It is apparent to me that there is a problem with this refrigerator. This experience has definitely affected my opinion off all Maytag products and I will not recommend them in the future.

The only reason I have not insisted on a new refrigerator from this dealer is I do not believe they could successfully delver and install the product correctly.
I would like an authorized dealer or manufacturer who can properly reverse the doors and install the refrigerator in my residence with no issues.

I would appreciate some assistance in this matter.

Sincerely
Donald Lipari

As a loyal Maytag customer for over 25 years that I have owned my home, I have found out that Maytag and it's employees are extremely incompetent and unconcerned about customer service or product liability and have the worst reputation for engaging with the three stooges of repair service who further damage the product they are servicing and the consumer's home. I finally spoke to a so called executive office representative named Micheal Alfaro who was as rude and uncaring about the liability the Maytag dishwasher and Wind appliance repair who Maytag sent to my home. He refused any assitance whatsover and told me to go back to Home Depot and get my money back! The dishwasher I purchased does not drain and leaks on my beautiful cherry wood floors. Wind appliance finally showed up this Saturday and the "technician" claime he "reset the drain pump" and other "adjustments". When I used the dishwasher for the fist time on Monday a horrible burning smell emanates from the machine and water poured out the front saturating the insulation in the front of the machine and dripping on my floors. After calling Maytag in a panic because I felt there was a fire buring in electrical system, all they would do is call the same crappy company, Wind Appliance, and have them come back-only Wind Appliance instead of treating this as a priority refuses to come out until four days later, thus leaving me with the uncertainty of the untold damage to the wiring and electrical system (maytag told me to shut my circut breaker) and not having a dishwasher for now another 4 days as well as the water damage. My fellow consumers, the only language Maytag will understand is a lawsuit and a class action is the appropriate mechanism to get that done. I will be contacting the best consumer law groups in the country to get the ball rolling so all similarly situated injured consumers can join in.

After seeing the list of Maytag product issues I regret purchasing their appliances. I grew up at a time that Maytag was considered a major appliance manufacturer and if willing to pay the price you would be rewarded with a product that would outlast its competitors! What I have found is the new set of appliances I purchased for my recently tiled kitchen floor which looks beuatiful is now in jeopardy due to an ineffectively designed refrrigerator unit that after two great years of service has now started accumulating water in the bottom of the freezer compartment that eventually leacked on to my new flooring and if I don't catch it...my flooring will be ruined. I figured it was a Maytag and this was the last thing I even dreamed of occuring...does anyone out there have any suggestions on how to get this fixed short of junking the refridgerator...? I am very disapspointed in Maytag and I don't see any wins on the consumers side of the equation...

I purchased a Maytag washing machine in good faith, and after seven weeks it ceased working. It took five weeks and over a dozen calls to Pearson's appliance in Fairfield, CA (where it was purchased) and Maytag to get it repaired. During the course of the five weeks of being without a working washer, I incurred over $100 in laundromat fees, which Maytag has promised to re-imburse me for. I still have received nothing, and each time I call Maytag, their "systems are down" and no one can help me. This has been the worst customer-service experience that I have ever had. This corporation is everything bad that a consumer could imagine. They truly don't care about their customers, and I would have been better off buying a used washing machine on Craigslist than a new Maytag. Buy another brand, and stay away from Pearson's Appliance if you live in Northern California.

They were not helpful even at the corporate office. I left messages and 4 day later i still have not heard back from them. They are not a good company to buy from if you run into problems.

Maytag has the poorest customer service, does not honor their manufacturer's warranty, and does not communicate with A&E Factory Services (their Certified Maytag Repair Operation). My new washing machine stopped working after seven months.
A&E Technicians determined it is "irrepairable" and requested replacement from Maytag. Maytag denied the replacement request. A&E cancelled service calls stating there is nothing more they can do. Maytag will not approve the replacement.

Honestly, the poorest customer experience i have ever been associated with and that saying something as i have been building new homes since 1971 and spec out 160K+ in appliances annually, more to the point how my clients are serviced, is of the utmost importance to my business.
I purchased my new Maytag washer 10/20/14, it failed 3 days later, in the last 7 weeks i have had 4 service calls with lengthy delays between scheduling and service all the while the washer has remained inoperable.
Customer services basically say "don't lose faith in Maytag". Futhermore, customer service claims only to be able to schedule another appointment but i believe i have endured enough, the broken washer should be Maytag's problem not mine at this point.
Not knowing how to be honestly heard at Maytag.
I intend to get active, righting what i perceive as a wrong contacting the AG's office, and our local news station has a consumer complaint advocate airing nightly and social media.

Spent good money stocking new home with maytag appliances to experience the loneliest repairman in the world. 2 yes and washer is broken and will cost more to repair than buying new.absolutely no help from customer service! So now I have purchased two maytag centennials. The first and the last!

Posted by R. James

To begin, I take full responsibility for my ignorance regarding a Maytag product. I should have read all negative comments about the new washer that I just purchased. I purchased a Maytag Centennial washer and my wife was able to complete three loads of laundry before the machine went kaput. we have had the machine slightly more than 30 days (37). since the machine exhibited several problems and since it had literally just come out of the box, I inquired about swapping out the defective machine for a new one. The store where I purchased the machine said it was not their problem but rather a Maytag problem. I was quickly getting the ping pong two step. I called Maytag and they told me that it didn't matter the newness of the machine they would only send a repairman to look at and perhaps repair the machine. I explained that for such a new machine to fail so quickly, it must be a design or mechanical flaw and I should not have to pay in money or worry for their mistake. Customer satisfaction usually carry some concern for good companies. This machine is virtually brand new. switching out the machine should be a no brainer. What happened to the MAYTAG good name?

MAYTAG DRYER PURCHASED NEW AND DELIVERED JANUARY 2014.

This is the 4th time we have called for repair of this machine since we received delivery of this machine in January 2014, and it is the same problem as happened the first 3 times. It is a defective machine that continues to malfunction and needs to be replaced. At what point is Sears and Maytag going to acknowledge this and do the right thing?

My opinion of the so-called Maytag reliability is that it stinks. I am going to start searching for the right person or people to bring attention to this problem because this is really bad customer service.

I had a GE washer for 18 years but decided to update it with a Maytag because of their good reputation. BIG mistake. Had it 3 months and it stopped at the spin cycle, left white residue marks on it and after 4 visits from different technicians wrote to Maytag to let off steam. They sent another three different technicians - all was find for three months and the problem is back. I have to do all my wash on the "Extra Clean" and "Extra Rinse" Cycle and still have stains on the clothes and ruined two pair of new pants! So much for "High Efficienacy" washer!! Should have stuck with my GE - will NEVER buy a Maytag again EVER !!!

Seven years ago I purchased my second set of Maytag appliances....a washer and dryer. I have two laundry rooms and I use them mainly to wash sheets and towels for my guest rooms. Guests sometimes use them, too. For most of those years, I had someone who did the laundry. I now do it and the dryer (a Legacy Series supersize capacity) rolls everything into a ball no matter what you do. So, you have to constantly be pulling the things out of the dryer and fluffing them. I contacted Maytag and were told that why didn't I try just doing towels by themselves and sheets by themselves. I can't even imagine why anyone would want an appliance like this one. I have another Maytag dryer and it works perfectly fine. However, I will never purchase another Maytag appliance for fear of getting another badly designed one. Maytag's cavalier attitude when I contacted them was sorry, too bad, and I think they didn't want me to go away mad but wanted me to go away. I no longer purchase Kitchenaid because I don't think Whirlpool is customer friendly and I had a bad experience with the purchase of a built-in refrigerator. Companies that sell badly designed appliances and in the case of my dryer and refrigerator I will avoid no matter how wowsy, dowsy their advertisements,

I purchased a maytag refridgerator ( against my better judgement) from my local Home Depot. It was delivered on April 1,2014 and today is May 8 , 2014 I have had three service cals into Maytag about the same issue concerning the refridgerator door making noises when opening and closing. I was told that the
Warranty is for repairs not replacements. I have this problem since receiving this product. I will NEVER buy another Maytag product againt!!!

We bought a maytag gas range approx. 2 years ago. This new range has that new aqua-lift cleaning technology.(worst technology ever!) My oven looks like a total disaster. The aqua lift cleaning cycle cleans nothing, I feel like I have been mislead by the sales associates. I should have kept my old range at least I didn't have to get on my hands and knees to scrub my oven. I cant't seem to get my oven clean no matter what I do, even with the afresh cleaner the grease on the side walls does not come off. Worst purchase ever..I don't think I will ever buy a Maytag ever again. I have called customer service to see if they could help or even give me some advise on how to clean this oven, and all I got was a snotty remark, that this technology was never sold as a self cleaning, rather a cleaning assistant. I would have accepted that if it even did that, however I does nothing, but bake the grease on the oven walls, instead of assisting in removing it.

What happened? The little stores can no longer by from you. I am hearing your product is not as good because of production in Mexico. Thankfully I have an old commercial capacity and a handy husband, I feel sad our local small town stores can not sell them because of your purchase policy. The little businesses are where we all began. Sorry for your loss of quality and kindness.

On July 30,2012 We Purchased A Maytag Refrigerator Btm Standard Door Model # Mbf2258xew4/k22811640 From Home Depot In Turlock Ca. It Was A Special Order And We Rec'd It On 8/7/2012. 2 Weeks Approx. Before The Standard 1 Yr. Warranty Was Up, We Noticed That Our Refrig. Was Cycling Like Every 20 Min And Had A Loud Popping Noise Accompanying
It. Around Aug. 2013 Our 1st Service Call Guy Came Out And Ran The Standard Tests And Said There Was Nothing Wrong With Our Refrig. And During The 15 Min. That He Was There Did Not Witness The Loud Sound. Asked Him To Stay A Few Minutes Longer But Would Not. So We Suffered With This For A Few More Months Until The Popping Sound Started Getting Louder. January 24, 2014 The Second Repair Guy Got To Hear My Video Recording Of The Refrigerator Loud Cycling Along With The Loud Banging Noise That Accompanies It. He Replaced A Bad Dul Part Which Seems To Cut Down The Cycling Period But The Popping Noise Has Gotten Louder.
Feb.20, 2014 The Refrigerator Now Sounds Like A Shotgun Going Off At Different Times When It Pops. 3rd Repairman Told Us That Nowadays These Things Are Made Out Of Recycled Products And Do Not Wear As Well Nowadays. He Says His Refrig Makes A Loud Pop Noise But Maytag Says Thats Normal. The Sound Of A Popgun Is Not Normal. Especially After Paying A $1000.00 For A Refrierator That Is Not 2 Years Old To Make That Sound. He Too Got To Hear My Video. He Put My Refrig. Through A Defrost Cycle So He Could Hear The Noise. Yep, Thats Coming From When It Goes Into Defrost. Nothing They Can Do. Then He Notices That The Side Of Our Refrigerator Is Starting To Ripple. If You Rub You Hand Down The Sides Of The Refrigerator You Can Feel The Waves Forming From The Compression Of The Refrig. Popping So Hard. I Would Like To Have Maytag Replace My Refrigerator. Especially Since It Is Starting To Ripple. Service Tech Even Noted That On His Service Receipt. Please Contact Me In Regards To The Lousy Product. (note: We Had Also Purchased The Extended Warranty)

We purchased a Maytag self-clean stove three years ago from Home Depot. We purchased a home in Florida and stay for 6 months of the year. The oven stopped working Christmas Day. We have extended warranty . The circuit temperature board would have been $500. to purchase; but because it is under warranty, the cost is covered. The repairman told us to never use the self-clean on the oven, as it will blow the circuit board again, and this time there is only a 30 day warranty on the part. The whole reason we paid extra money on the stove was so that I wouldn't have to manually clean the oven! Obviously there has been problems with the circuit board going if you use the self clean- since the repair man is saying to never use that feature again and to clean the oven manually. Very upset.

I feel that it is somewhat sad, but nevertheless important for people to realize that Maytag is no longer the company your parents or grandparents knew. From the Wikipedia website..."By 2004, the Maytag repairman character had become to some consumers a symbol of misplaced trust in aging marketing campaigns. Maytag's reputation has plunged to the bottom with costly consumer class action lawsuits and numerous quality complaints. On April 1, 2006, Whirlpool completed its acquisition of Maytag Corporation. In May 2006, Whirlpool announced plans to close the former Maytag headquarters office in Newton, as well as laundry product manufacturing plants in Newton, Iowa; Herrin, Illinois; and Searcy, Arkansas by 2007. Following the Maytag headquarters closure, all brand administration was transferred to Whirlpool's headquarters in Benton Harbor, Michigan. The Maytag name would now be used on Whirlpool-designed appliances. Most Maytag employees were terminated, but some were offered jobs at Whirlpool. On January 1, 2009, Maytag (under the ownership of the Whirlpool Corp.) changed the vested lifetime benefits of the Maytag retirees. There is a lawsuit pending in the Southern District Court of Iowa where Whirlpool has asked for permission to change the UAW bargained benefits. The benefits in question were subsequently changed despite any resolution of the lawsuit."

I purchased a Maytag Bravos Washer and Dryer. The dryer had to have $550 of repairs to the computer board only 2 1/2 years later. The company was very uncooperative. I will NEVER buy another Maytag product.

Don't buy a Maytag Refridgerator. We bought the expensive French door unit and have had only problems! The local repair guy came out several times and told us that we had too many fruits and veggies and that was the reason for all the frozen condensation on the inside roof. The frozen seal around the ice maker was the fact that ice was in the door..really?? Called Maytag rude center and they said to call back when the part came in two months later. Rude center mailed the wrong part and the bozo they sent out took refrigerator apart then put back together and next day ice maker melted all over floor , freezer food defrosted and refrigerator room temp. When I called three different places they all said they would not do anything until Monday and it could take a week for the part??? I guess it is ok that we throw hundreds of $$ of food away.

Bought a Maytag centennial washer on 6/26/13. It quit working on 9/25/13. I've only had it for 3 months. No one wants to replace it. Called about the warranty. It will take 2 weeks before I can get a tech out here to fix/look at it. They only work with a national company for this. Who can wait 2 weeks with out a washer? I can't! Who is going to reimburse me time and money to go out to a laundry mat? I just want it replaced. I feel that I have a lemon!!!

I am seriously concerned about this maytag dryer which has a deadly flaw. The drum heats up to a very high temperature leaving behind an oder of what I am drying regardless of scented dryer sheet, I am always cleaning my dryer lint screen after every use I clean the lint screen and the back of dryer, so that a fire does not occur. This occurs also in very humid air. Clothes don;t dry at all in this case.

My husband and I recently purchased a Maytag Centennial commercial washer W102805-48E and we want to return and get machine similar to our old that works! like it is supposed to. What a piece of junk! After owning them for years,we hate this machine. I want to quote the previous comments because we "my wife has used maytag washers for over 30 years with great success.the old one started leaking so we bought a new commercial grade one from a dealer. Big mistake.it has sencors all over the place. it starts to wash then stop. the lid lock is very, very annoying. it will start, then stop again. all of this happens before the water has realy began to fill up the machine. it starts and stops about 4 times before the machine begans to start washing. finally you get the washer and it starts to wash the agitator hardly moves. my wife likes suds in the wash but the agitator does not moves enough to make suds so she has to stop the washs and add more soap. she uses more soap than she ever has in her life. then the machine empties and spins out the water. then the sensors take over again. on a regular load the spin rinse is the only rinse you get. if you add fabric softner it is added in the spin rinse and the softner goes out with the rinse water. who designed this washer an idoit? if you try to wash a delicate load the agitator will move about one inch 4 times and then rest for about a minute. then move 4 more times and rest. this goes on for about fifteen minutes. it takes on average of one hour to one and a half hours to do a load of laundry and we really sure its clean. we have been trying for a week now to figure out this machine and all we can come up with...I want to return this piece of junk and either get a new one from you that works like it should or get our money back and find one that works. Have purchased a top-of-the-line Bravos washer and in less that two years the washer body has begun to RUST. I returned to the local Maytag dealer and was given a bottle of white paint. I have pampered this machine and can see no reason for this unsightly flaw in the finish. I am hoping to arrest this cancer before the condition worsens. So far, no one at the dealer or in the corporate offices has offered a solution. Having spent in excess of $800. on this machine I expected to get more that two years of cervice before it started to ROT OUT.

My wife and I purchased a Maytag gas range from Abt
in Glenview Illinois that included a timer function.
When we were going to use the timer we discovered it
did not have a delayed start option. My wife is very disappointed we do not have that option, so we warn
buyers to ask first before purchasing the gas range.
Maybe it was our responsibility to check first even
though the salesperson said it had a timer.

My husband and I bought a new Maytag Stainless Steel Bottom Freezer Frige. We were so excited to have water in the door, ice maker in the door and than the problems started!!! It was very, very loud so we call twice to have someone look at it. We were told that's the way these new appliances are made. Now the ice maker is not working and water is puddling on the bottom of the freezer drawers. We have to take it off in sheets. We are now waiting to have yet another service call in the morning. We bought it from a smaller retailer, Baron's Appliances in hopes of getting better service than the big box stores. Our old refrigerator never required one service call in ten years. This unit is less than two years old and three service calls!!
I will probably will consider something other than Maytag when replacing this appliance. At this rate it could be soon!!!!!! I am very disappointed. We also purchased a Maytag electric range, dishwashing, and microwave. So far, no problems.

P.S. I wish I had a real email address for you so I could send a picture of how good the avocado green Washer and Dryer still look. They've served us well.

We purchased Maytag Washer 40+ years ago and Maytag Dryer 38+ years ago (in avocado green). They still work, but we're buying new ones this year. The few repairmen we've had over the years have always said we'll never find another one as good.

I purchase a maytag stove in June it has not work right since I purchase it . It is a MET 8775xsol, it is just setting in the kitchen because nothing comes out right.
I can't cook my cakes that I give for gifts on holiday.
I am a little tired of not being able to use a stove I paid so much money for.

I purchase an new Maytag Refrigerator /Freezer, 25 cu ft about 2 years ago. We also purchase the Extended Service Warranty all from the local Dallas, TX Maytag Dealer.
I called them today to get a repair made to the Ice Maker and they informed me that don't do Extended Warranty Service anymore. They told me that they farmed that out and could not give me the name of the company or contact information.
So, I called Maytag Corporate office. I spoke with Ashley and she could absolutely not help me with the local dealer or this service problem. This is not the old Reliable, Professional Maytag Company I have known over the years. After reading some of the other comments I can readily beleive it won't be long before Maytag is gone.

i called your corporate office today and i was very upset about a problem with my dryer. having bought them at home depot less than two years ago, and almost from day one had problems with the dryer and then the washing machine started sounding like the space shuttle taking off from the cape. so my wife got busy looking for and finally finding our extended warranty on the pair. i was informed that the washing machine they would come check and if certain critera warranted a repair then they would fix it, but if not then i would have to pay for the repair. then i was told that the dryer door hinge is not a mechanical part and therefore not covered under the extended warranty we bought, just in case things like this happened. i got very angry and asked to speak to a manager and he told me that the metal door hinge on the dryer was not a mechanical part and therefore not covered under my warranty. i will defend my position on the door hinge as being a mechanical part until i draw my last breath on this earth. the service official Eric (no last name for me to pin him down) that he was just so sorry that i was mistaken about a metal moving part was not a mechanical part that i got very angry and in no certain terms called him a coward for not telling me his last name, because i was going to call maytag and check on this issue. i called the number on your website to see if i could get some assistance from the company itself. i am disabled and live on social security and i tend to be emotional about things like a door hinge not being called a mechanical device. i spoke to the most wonderful lady that maytag has on their payroll and we talked about the problem and she was very polite and understanding and i just wanted to tell you that you do have some very good people working for your company and i think you should trace my incident back to this wonderful lady and give her credit for being a wonderful employee and she deserves at least twice the pay she receives. she truly believes in your product, but more importantly she truly believes in your customers and their problems. i will fix my problem because of her and her amazing attitude for customers happiness. i wrote this because i believe that praise is earned and not given out to the people that correspond to your appliances and their problems. she deserves more than just praise, she actually placed me in a very good state of mind and a true desire to keep using your appliances. oh and one last thing, i will never buy any appliance from home depot ever again. i bought your product from them with the warranty and to this day, i got not an ounce of assistance from them for support of the problem. i will drive somewhere else and buy my building supplies and other items, but i will not spend another penny at home depot.

Hi We decided to purchased this refrigerator , model #12568AES Serial # 10831589JE we purchased it about 4 years ago. We had you to service it last year when the ice component malfunctioned. Then this year we had the holes on the back to break and cause water damaged in the kitchen, plumber on our behalf came and stopped the water. We called our extended warranty service on August 7 we were scheduled by HI Tech Service Corp, to come on the 10th they never showed up so the following day I called them and they said they are no longer on the list for repairing. Mean while my food is spoiling. I asked why didn't you call to let us no, very nasty you must call May tag. We called back and you gave us Alliance Appliance, they could not come until the 13th of August, came and took an assessment and said they would have to order parts. No one call us back mean while no service no food, buying food daily to cook causing us additional gas. I call today the 16th and they tell us (Alliance) May tag suppose to call and let you know they said they denied the repairs. so we call you back and we are told that there was corrosion in the system and our warranty doesn't cover it. I need a written or email of the cause of not repairing. My question why pay for insurance and extended warranties when not being covered. I will never buy another product that Maytag or whirlpool manufactures. This family always purchased the Kenmore products, there service is better. My sister purchased the same ref rig i have because she liked it, but i will call and let her know and all my friends and family what happened to us with the 2900.00 mistake we have made. I will call the claims department and on request we need this in writing the assessment of the claim. Product looks beautiful but something is wrong because there is no way we would have known that there was corrosion taken place from the previous problem the ice maker and the temperature started to blinking and I followed the manual by holding it for 2 seconds it came back on properly them i notice the meats started to thaw up.
