Poulan Corporate Office Comments

This is not a problem, just wanted to say thank you for having a great product. To make a long short, I live in Florida, grass grows year round. Last summer my mower broke after many years of service. Also had almost two months of no outside activity. Grass grew well, both in the yard and the pasture. As expenses from surgery were mounting, did not want to buy a new mower. Looked at used, and they were well used. A friend told me about one he saw for $200, worked. Next day I was there. It was a Poulan, which I had never owned. Looked at it, it was old. Started fine. Man said deck belt was broken. Looked under it (can you see a short 78 year old lady climbing all over and under a mower. It's ok, neither could he.) What I really liked was the belt configuration. It would be easy to replace. Off I went, with my old new 2005 mower.
Got a belt on, it mowed but not as well as I liked, did get the yard mowed. Shortly, the drive belt broke. That was a bit harder than the deck belt, but got it on. Lord, that mower came alive. Turned it on, and it growled, hissed, said in a clear voice, Lady, lets mow grass. And, we did. Mowed the one acre yard, and it wasn't done mowing yet. My pasture needed mowing, figured as long as that mower had to be held back on a tight rein, might as well see if it could handle mowing around the barn. Drove it in the pasture, and what a happy mower it was. It left dead grass everywhere. Hadn't been able to find anyone with a tractor wanting a small pasture job, why not try. Took it in steps, but that mower ate the pasture. Figured I'd get the summer out of it. Bless it's heart, still screams when started, "Let's get the job done".
My thanks to all involved with the manufacturing of this monster mower. It was built in Orangeburg, S.C., Model 960 16000 200: Serial 011905D0027633. They did good work and should be proud. I know I am

Please help with my Chainsaw! I have talked with customer service and not getting anywhere. I bought the chain saw a year ago, i have used 5 times and it has been in the shop twice. Now, in the shop for almost 3 months, cant get parts for covered items, not sure about some of the problems, covered not covered. Bought the extended warranty as well. Cant find anyone to to escalate and help. Steve Wood Jacksonville Florida , My saw is at Northern tool in Jacksonville.

I own a Poulan Pro snow thrower (PR621) and it has been a workhorse for me for a number of years and still is. I purchased one for my daughter and did numerous recommendations to others. At the end of November 2018, I purchased a PR241 for those big snowstorms that used to come every 100 years (sarcasm). Unfortunately, this was a model that was about 3 years old and Menards had a sale but I could only find a display model. I was assured that it was fine and since it was already assembled all I had to do was get it home. A day later, I took the owner's manual out and decided to familiarize myself with the snow blower and its operation. I found there was no primer bulb and the fuel line to it was hanging out of sight. The chute wasn't 100% operational and there were no spare shear bolts included. I called the Menards where I made the purchase and they didn't find any parts where the blower was on display. I decided I would contact Poulan customer service before hauling this big machine back to Menards. I was answered with an annoyed tone of "what do you need"? I introduced myself and asked who I was speaking with. I got "Jim". I explained what my issue was and got the 3rd degree about whether I knew what the primer bulb is and where it is located. After assuring Jim that I knew what and where to look, he asked me for the model number. Jim's next annoyed response was "this is a few years old, I'm going to transfer you". No explanation where I was being transferred or why. My transferred call was answered by a professional sounding Michael whom I didn't have to ask his name. Again I introduced myself and explained my situation. Michael explained that he was in the factory and will look to see if my parts were available. He came back on line and told me he had the primer bulb and will mail that out to me. He said he needed to order the shear bolts and would get that mailed out to me too. Michael asked me if there was anything else he could help me with and before ending the call he apologized for the inconvenience to me. I thanked him for his help and his professional demeanor. I received all the parts in just over a week. The Jims with a bad attitude in the world never get why they eventually lose their jobs. Thank you for all the Michaels that pick up the slack and do an excellent job!

Purchased a $ 169.00 Poulan Pro 18" chainsaw with a 2 year warranty from Home Depot August 2014 worked fine until August 2015. Went to start it the started hub doesn't enage the motor so I took it to a local authorized service center. I was given some lame excuse that it most likely wouldn't be covered by warranty? I ask what good is a 2 year warranty if you're not going to cover it, was told that's what poulan said. I called poulan 800-554-6723 only to be told the service center makes that decision. Hey poulan your an American company that doesn't stand behind your product. Note to the wise stay far away from their products!!!! All this for a $15.00 part?

Purchased a Poulan Pro PP325 17-inch weed trimmer on July 8th. delivered on July 10th. I could not get it started. Called Pulan service and followed their instructions (basically reading the owners manual to me) and still nothing. Changed plug and that did not help. Called again and they gave me the name of a service dealer. Dropped it of on July 14th. After two weeks I checked and they say it is an issue with the carb and they submitted the paperwork. Call Poulan customer service who says they will check into and get back to me. They never did. I called again and went around and around with them and they finally tell me the service dealer must not have followed the proper protocol. Checked back with the service dealer who said they have done everything. Called Poulan customer service again and was given the same story. Asked to talk to a supervisor and was sent to voice mail. Called the next day and they gave me a ticket number and said they would expedite my call giving it high priority and transferred me. Talked to this group and am now told they will not cover it because it is a stale fuel problem (after two more return calls to get some answers). I have multiple weed trimmers, blowers, and chain saw, some of which are Poulan products, that are all working using the same fuel I put into this trimmer. At most, that fuel may have been 30 days old. So - I spent $170 on a new weed trimmer that NEVER STARTED. The dealer said they can put in a new carburetor for $60 plus the part. Great. Is this how Poulan backs up their products?

I Expected Better From A Company With Your Reputation And I Thought Quailty !!!!!! You Just Never Know

So Poulan has adopted the Customer 'care less' Service. Called today to discuss an issue with my year and a half old 4218avx chain saw with average hours of use. Couldn't believe the level of disinterest and lack of assistance offered by the rep.
My fault completely for not having my Lowes receipt but basically without that Poulan will not help me at all. To the point the woman became a bit rude. So I guess they don't stand behind their product at all and I am not going to chase chain brake parts and spend money on this product. When the saw ran it did OK, not great, but the brake assembly basically melted and the metal parts were shaved down so obviously something is amiss. I'm sure I will just end up throwing this thing out and buying a better brand saw. One thing for sure is I will never buy Poulan again. I have sent a letter to the Charlotte location but after my phone experience and reading other posts I don't expect any results, sadly.

Regarding Poulan P3314 chainsaws and others.

There is an internal manufacturing flaw in some Poulan engines that is causing the internal destruction of these engines. However it seems to be going unnoticed because it has the same appearance as damage caused by improper fuel mix or overheating and the diagnoses stops there.

The defect is this: The crankshaft assembly "shafts" and others) which are pressed into the counter weights are allowed to protrude past the face of the counterweight into the connecting rod space. The newer style forged connecting rods (not the earlier narrow rods) are wide enough to interfere with the protruding shaft ends. The rod end wears against the edge of the shaft end and actual steel slivers and bits are released inside the crankcase. It looks like the damage done by overheating, fuel/oil mixture issues, or carbon scoring. The problem is being misidentified and in some cases not warrantied and the customer is without recourse.

Once I discovered this, after seeing steel metal shavings in the crankcase and locating the source, I've since identified this as being the actual cause of failure in at least five P3314 saws.

My local Poulan services were no help and "lost" a sample crankshaft I left with them after seeing and acknowledging the problem. They regard them as throw away saws and not worth their trouble to deal with.

Good Afternoon, I purchased the Poulan Pro PR241 on November 7, 2014. I was excited to get this blower because my friends recommended Poulan as a company that stands by it's products. I was snowblowing my drive the second time this year in January and the blower broke. I took it to Roy's General Store in Traverse City, they looked at the blower and ordered the part needed. After 3 weeks of waiting they tell me the part is on back order until March. Since then, I have had to have my drive plowed 3 times costing $90. I called Poulan customer service and they said they could not do anything to speed up the process. Things are tight for me and my boys, I am a single dad and the cost of ownership on this blower has frustrated me. This is a new snowblower. Please help, we are getting more snow and I am in need of having my snow blower fixed.

I had one of your Poulon mowers for ten or twelve years before purchasing my present one and had to replace the drive wheels three or four times in that span.
The mower that I have now, m/n PR625Y22RKP, s/n 011708M002975, I purchased 08/18/08. I have just ordered my fifth pair of drive wheels, (at $64) which does NOT include the pair that you replaced under warranty within two months of mower purchase. I have determined that the drive shaft mechanism is 1.0 inches too short to allow the drive gears to engage the full width of the driven teeth. In fact, the left wheel has only about 1/2 engagement, while the right wheel has only about 1/3 engagement of the inboard end which chews them up rapidly.
2010 and 2011 were very dry years so the mower was not used very often: 2012 we were between houses and it was virtually not used. These facts have made me decide that I will never purchase another Poulon product and if I am asked I will advise anyone else to do likewise.
I have just finished mowing for only the 3rd time (4 1/2 hrs use)and the newest set of wheels is already chewed up. (I contacted service 3 weeks ago and have heard nothing back.)I would like this situation resolved asap.

while I consider the workmanship (manufacture) of your Poulan lawn tractor at least satisfactory, as a person with a solid background in mechanical engineering, your 42" cut) mower deck is a piece of design incompetence worthy of dismissal with (good) cause. When I become aware that you've taken this appropriate action, I may consider renewing my confidence in your product(s). Meanwhile, I'll spend a little more on Real American quality and know-how and stick with my JD.

Worst company to deal with. The problems that I had after buying a brand new chain saw and now I can't get anyone to help. I'll return the product and find another brand. No one answers, your call tree keeps hanging up, etc.

your customer service is the worst in the industry..I agree with everyone else. You cannot reach a human being and the it just hangs up on you????? Sell me a a chain saw with a defect and then your service centers say between 3 weeks and 2 months for service..NICE!!!
The problem is the brake on the 50cc it is broken and is crap. I am contacting CPSC today to report it

Like your lousy phone machine says have a nice day goodbye...and I am returning to Home Depot I know the unit you sold me is reconditioned and you are lying to state otherwise

I WILL NEVER buy a huskquavarna, poulan or any product that is associated withem ever again. Nor will I ever buy another piece of lawn equipment from Wal-Mart. Not enough space to tell story. W-M customer service is not worth a darn for starters. They told me to pour my fuel out. I said fine I told them I would right outside the door! Now the other crooks. Plain and simple their products are worthless, do not last a season, cannot get parts, cannot talk to a person and to top it off you cannot even use their website!!!!!!!!!

My advice buy from a local dealer that cares about their customers and sells quality products they will service and stand behind. Spend more money and save the grief.

Poulan Products and Customer Service sucks. Also their service centers are terrible. I went the service place they recommended and and the they were losed in the middle of the day.

I called the number and the gentleman told me it was told cold to work (35 degrees).

Thanks Poulan for running a terrible company!

I purchased a P3816 chainsaw from Wal-Mart in March 2013. Used it once to cut up a log and it worked well. Early December I cut a 1/2,cord of wood and then the saw stopped. It had plenty of properly mixed fuel and oil. I took it to Wal-Mart who made me drain all fluids before they would talk. Went back in and they said too long,go to poulans Tech. I took it to a service supplier who first said, not what happened or how , just"$30. Bench charge". Instant dislike.
Within an hour he calls and said I had run it dry and ruined piston ring and cylinder.
At Wal-Mart I had drained ,3/4 of a tank of gas. They said no warranty. They never checked the carb which obviously is defective.Never Again.

Bought a brand new 20 Chainsaw (PP5020AV). No where in their Manual or web site do they tell you which replacement chain to buy. Is it a 3/8 pitch or a .325 pitch. I finally figured out that it has 70 drive links but they don't even sell the damn thing on their own website. Are they really that stupid????

I purchased a Poulan P3416 chain Saw June 15,2013 and it is one agravating piece of equipment. I did not use it immediately so part of the warrenty expired. It just doesn't run. I get it started and it cuts off. I may get it started again the second time, but after that forget it.

I have an opion of this product and it is a piece of junk. This is the second Poulan chain saw I have purchased but it is certainly the last. I can't even get a service center to work on the product under warranty because of their issues with Poulan.

Sorry but it is a piece of crap.

No mincing words, Poulan sucks! Bought a hedgetrimmer, used it once and it stopped working right off the bat. Have gotten NOWHERE with customer service or any of the "so-called" service places that refuse to work on it. I'm out $200.....an expensive lesson to say the least. NEVER EVER EVER again will I purchase one of their items.

Posted by vote them all out

Their customer service phone number is just a run a round and you can never talk to a live person!
That is why the U.S is sinking like a turd in a punchbowl.
U.S mgf is the worst of the worst when it comes to customer service.

To whom it may concern,

I sent an email to the corporate Poulan office and was wondering if I will get a response.

Poulan chain electric chain saws & hand held engine powered blowers JUNK FOLLWED BY WORSE SERVICE!! I own both and they are about 1 year old and both un-usable!!

Posted by Voodoo

Poulan Customer Service has no concern for whether you are satisfied with their product. I purchased a leaf blower that needed service right out of the box. I was given two options that BOTH required me to go the extra mile. Poulan didn't care. Call and find out for yourself.
