Purchased a Roku ultra two months ago. Unit stop working after one month. I've been chatting back-and-forth with customer support for three weeks now and still the issue has not been resolved. every time I tried to contact them it's always with somebody from India, which I cannot understand and they don't understand how to talk English. I have requested to speak to somebody in America that speaks English and they transfer me to somebody else in India, which I still cannot understand. The half dozen times that I've chatted allI I am requesting is a replacement and I'll send the piece of junk I have been back and they keep telling me 3 to 5 days every time 3 to 5 days but yet nothing happens. I can say that chatting with Roku support sucks. Would I ever buy another Roku product no way at this point I am getting ready to contact the states attorney's office to file a report against Roku, and I will probably file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau

Roku has no problem with stealing your money I had issues with Roku during hurricane Keon no service no power no nothing I informed them that I would like a refund or credit to my account I explain to them that I no longer have the card that was used for payment They proceeded to process a payment to a debit card that no longer exists and now they're saying that there's nothing that they can do about it I've had to file plenty of reports with the Better Business Bureau the people are very rude inconsiderate you can't understand a word they do not speak American English with an American dialect they do as they want to do with your account they don't give you any type of information as to what's going on and then you're stuck now I have money sitting in the air somewhere I explain to them that it was a gift card that I no longer have the lady told me to contact my financial institution so I am assuming that's the Ghostbusters because it's not linked to any bank it's a throwaway card and all I get is nothing six years of being a customer I pray that another company can come out to compete with Roku

I have been using ROKU for years and have subscribed to various streaming apps thru you. I subscribed to AMC+ and paid for an entire year. Suddenly, I was denied access to AMC+ in the middle of viewing a movie and was instructed to signin on my ROKU
login info. When tried to sign back in I was denied, plus an unknown email was shown. I took several steps to try to resolve: I tried changing my ROKU UID and password. I was still denied. When I die to set up a new account, it said I already had an account, but I was still denied access. Now, I discovered there is a second AMC+ app that has been added to ROKU: AMC+ on ROKU. I tried signing on using this new app. Did not work. It would only allow me to sign up for a new trial. Apparently, I subscription was stolen.
I am very angry that you allowed this to happen.

I have been with Roku for a few years now. You guys have been charging my credit card for over 23 months 14.99 x 23 =344.77 for a app I knew nothing about. Customer Rep are horrible. kept me on the phone on hold mind you, for over hour and half. I want my money back.

This place is full of hackers don't ever give them your card information. They hack into my credit card and took over four hundred dollars from me. I had to report my card lost and stolen and they still were able to hack into my new credit card and charge it four different times. No one should use this device if you don't want to be hacked. I'm going to the news and reporting them and I hope it goes nation wide. This is like tic toc the app that if you put Your information in they will use it and fraudulently take money from you or even steal your identity . Everyone in the United States should know about this they made this devices to scam people don't ever use this device I repeat don't ever use this device. If you think they haven't scammed you yet it's just a matter of time

I just contacted your customer service because my stick stopped working. They said I need an update and that I had to pay for it. So I never heard of paying for a update. An upgrade yes. If this is true new update could come monthly. Why buy a stick if updates cost. I think these 2 guys are running a scam 844-631-5110. Then they blocked my number. Please let me know either way.

I purchased a roku and had to pay 79.99 to activate it so I was told it would be for 4 devices come to find out it was a lie and was just for one so I got charged again another 29.99 to put another one these people are a joke and will be getting reported to the better business bureau

I just t think that a company as big as Roku could at least put people on there staff to answer calls about questions billing and such instead of having an answer robot to tell you to go to some web address. From there see if you can figure out there what is relevant to what you need help with. I feel sorry for companies that are losing their touch with the human race and their human needs when it comes to dealing with people.

The customer service for this company is TRASH!!! You outsource to India and literally NOONE I talked to has been helpful and I am steaming. I will be getting rid of this ROKU ASAP and make sure others I speak with not get involved with you guys either

I've been trying to get a billing issue fixed for the last 4 months. When I call people that doesn't speak English just hangs up on me. This is unacceptable. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. This makes no sense

I think your company need to investigate your customer service department. Something is not right they ask for your credit card information then they ask for information from a check their explanation is " a check can only be used once while your credit card can be used more than once". I had already entered the information on-line but never received a confirmation or email so I ended up having to call customer service ( which you can't understand a word that they are saying). Also WHY should a customer paid to have a TV activated!!!!!! I was charged $75 just to activate the TV, if it wasn't a gift I would be returning this. I have contacted my bank about the matter now I have to wait and pray that no from another country don't have my information!!!!!!!!

Bought a streaming stick. Couldn't get it to work so I called tech support. They told me my system had a problem - for $149 they could fix the problem. The support guy said he was in India and asked about tie ins are on my computer! I got off the line and this Roku product is going back. Why not have U.S. tech support for U.S.customers. Oh, by the way my computer is now screwed up and needs to be checked out.

I purchased the Roku streaming stick and a Roku 3 device. In November I subscribed to the HuluPlus channel using the same email address I use for my Roku account. I canceled the account during the trial period. I subscribe to the WWE Network and in January they announced that they would be joining with HuluPlus so again I subscribed to HuluPlus using the email address I use for my children and decided to keep it. In April I noticed a charge from HuluPlus and a charge from Roku for HuluPlus. I called HuluPlus and they said that I have been a customer with them since February. They could not pull up an account for my Roku email address. Roku charged me $8.73 for HuluPlus for February, March and April as well as HuluPlus charging me $7.99 for the same months. Upon checking my bank account further, Roku had been charging me for a HuluPlus account since December, when I didn't have an account. The HuluPlus representatives were extremely eager to help but being they could not pull up an account for my Roku email address there was nothing they could do. I have been getting the run around from Roku reps and so called floor supervisors since 4/11/15. When you subscribe to a channel using your Roku device you are prompted to go to your computer and set the account up and then return to your Roku device and sign in with the email address/password you had chosen. I've tried explaining to them that if in fact I had a HuluPlus account it would have signed me in automatically and not prompted me to set one up. Also, if in fact I had a HuluPlus account with my Roku email address, HuluPlus would be able to pull the account up. I've spoke with my back about this issue and was going to dispute the charges but they're only able to go back 2 months and I would have to deactivate the card I have another one issued. This is not reasonable for me because I have to many accounts direct debited, so I either chalk it up as a lesson learned and move on with my daily routines. Granted it is only $46.73 but it isn't the amount it is the principle. How can they justify charging me for three months along with HuluPlus charging me. It's ridiculous that there isn't a corporate number to call. I will call them everyday if I have to until this is taken care of. I suggest anyone who may have a HuluPlus account check and see of they to are being charged twice. I will not recommend to anyone that they purchase a Roku device.

Do NOT buy ROKU devices! I purchased mine a month ago, it is still under warranty and it has been repeatedly malfunctioning. I have spent countless hours with customer service and their process of returns is abysmal.

They expect (even under warranty) that the consumer/customer spends over $15 to ship device to ROKU headquarters, prior to replacement. once they receive device they supposedly send a new one? But the same exact model with no upgrades to software ( and this is what the issue is! the software for Roku has not been updated in over a year and this issue is very common! (this is what the supervisor told me)
Alternatively, they offer to email shipping label ( at cost of customer to print label and purchase package in addition to cost of travel to closest fedex (for me is 20miles+)
Those are the ONLY options, and again this is under warranty! The proper procedure under BBB practices is to 1. file warranty paperwork and replacement 2. Ship replacement device 3. discontinue use of current device once the replacement is received by customer
None of those steps should be at the customers expense!
I asked to please ship me a postage paid envelope to ship the device; their response: no.
I asked they ship a replacement device prior to me sending the broken one, they responded :NO

It is very clear that they are in the business of sales not actually developing technology.
The failure to update software for over a year that consumers are still complaining about is poor customer service but more importantly poor business from a technological stand point. If a device is still under warranty and ROKu refuses to: 1.) update software 2.) replace device without costumer accruing additional hardships 3.) adjust their policies regarding warranty returns
then they are liable under poor business practices and misrepresentation. As a consumer, I expect a newly purchased tech device to, at the very least, be able to update software to function properly. It is a WiFi streamer that doesn't stream with a WiFi connection! The customer service rep also commented that he was the supervisor and that it is not a cable internet provider issue..... but it also is Not a Roku issue..
Plain and Simple: It is a Roku Bad Business Practice issue!

in addition to a violation of warranty contracts. All of which are legally binding contracts upheld in court of law= class action lawsuit

Purchased a Roku in June. Worked for a few days, then died. Contacted their service department within the 90 day warranty period. They have continually refused my requests to return this unit for an exchange. Made two telephone appointments where I had to take time off of work, they did not call as scheduled. I have lost more money on time and effort than the unit costs. Conveniently the service department has nothing to do with me as the warranty has expired. I am but a small customer and Roku a big giant. All I asked for was the opportunity to exchange! Beware! Service is nonexistent.

I purchased a Roku online from the official website. I ordered on February 19th and never received it. When I called the 888-600-7658 number I was told that it had been returned back to the shipper. I requested a refund or that a new equipment be sent to me. Customer Service indicated that they couldn't do it because they have not yet received the original equipment. I do not have the equipment, never received it and on the USPS tracking it clearly says that it was sent back a while ago. So clearly it is lost, not my fault. They don't want to reimburse what I paid nor will provide a new equipment until they receive it. I received a case number but this doesn't help at all since they refuse to reimburse what I paid UNTIL they receive the equipment. This is very poor customer service. I was planning on purchasing several more equipments as gifts for the family but now I will not.

I purchase a Roku at Best buy and called Roku customer service for installation. Agent Paulina offered an extended warranty for the equipment for $19.99 and I purchased. My Roku worked for a couple of weeks and then did not work because the distance signal for my wireless connection. I returned the Roku equipment to Best Buy and my money was refunded without any problem. I did not have the same with Roku, I contacted customer service and I was told that my money will not be refunded. I will referred my complaint to Consumer Affair & BBB. we cannot permit to have company like this that have business deceiving customers. I encourage everyone to do the same and report all complaints. Poor service. No a company to trust.

Purchased a Roku unit. Received it and installed it in a flash. But the content of the channels that were available were not what I wanted. Called for Return Authorization and had to wait for "agent" to go through a sales spiel. Finally got authorization. Returned unit via USPS tracking. Company said they never got it, then they said they got it. Then I was told credit to be issued in 7 days, then 9 days, they 10-15 days. Finally called credit card company and disputed the charge. My credit card company told me that charge would remain for 60 until Roku cleared it. They never did. They also don't know how to handle credits for returns. Very poor business practices. Never again. BEWARE.

I just purchase and installed Roku 2x and had no problems with all the wonderful options EXCEPT Angry Bird. My remote will not function and have try all ways possible and reset button. What do I need??
