Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines Corporate Office Comments

Good morning,

I am recently retired and am looking forward to cruising and traveling all over the world.

Recently I booked a cruise with RC for this October 8 through the 15th on the Oasis of the Sea.

When I booked this cruise in January, as always, I prefer the balcony facing the ocean. So I booked what I thought was a balcony facing the ocean. To my dismay I realized recently that I had booked an inside balcony. I never knew that inside balcony existed until I watched a virtual tour of the ship.

I called customer service and requested a balcony on the ocean and NOT an inside balcony.

I had to pay almost $500.00 for the change!

I am very disappointed in Royal Caribbean for not making that distinction when I originally booked, it was described as a balcony stateroom and I was mislead. I was also told that the current reservation may be an obstructed view and there was no guarantee otherwise!

I was so looking forward to this first cruise since my retirement.

Needless to say, I am not happy with these recent turn of events.

I always enjoyed cruising with Royal Caribbean and may have to consider an alternative cruise line for the future.

I sailed on the serinade of seas out of New Orleans on March 29-april 5. We had outstanding service and we were told if we rated our waiters etc with a 10 that the crew would receive honor etc. I have never received any survey by e mail and everyone I made friends with received nothing other than advertisements !!! I have sailed with you many times and I feel you treat your crew like cattle. I spent over two hours of my time yesterday trying to correct this. However, all I got was a "I'm sorry" . You owe your crew this satisfaction, you owe your passengers what you promise.!!!!!!!

We were aboard Serenade of the Seas, Jan 25,2014 sailing out of New Orleans for the Bahamas. Before returning to New Orleans the ship experienced mechanical issues which made it 4 hours late to disembark. We along with many others missed our flights home that day. We were all told by the staff on board to send in our receipts for new flights, hotel etc. and it would ALL be reimbursed. Now guest relations are saying they know nothing about what we were told and will only pay $150 each. No mistake, that is exactly what we were told aboard ship.

Have cruised many times but this was our first with Royal Caribbean. We feel the staff is very unorganized, ship was not the cleanest, and that their first concern is money and not the guests on board!!!!

I have contacted Royal Caribbean regarding onboard credits. They have refused although at the moment they are offering onboard credits. I will have sailed 4 times by the end of this year and feel that I am entitled to these credits. I booked early for one of them a back to back cruise around Australia and N.Z and the other one is directly to N.Z these are all between October & December this year. I have spoken to your Australian contact and she said you do not give credits only on special cruises advertised. I then commented that should we wait until 3 weeks before the cruise ?? hoping to get the cabin we want, and in fact the cruise we want. I feel Royal Caribbean is very unfair in their policy and Princess Cruises honour their past passengers, either with dicounted fares or onboard credits. I should like to feel that R.C.C. respect their returning passengers. I was going to book another two cruises for next March but now feel a bit disgruntled re the onboard credits and the fact that I should wait until these offers appear. We usually like to book well in advance for these cruises. I await your response on this subject.
