Love Taylor made, Adidas AND Sergio Garcia!
What a sad day for the game of Golf, Sergio Garcia has not only offended Tiger Woods but all who play the game . As a Mexican/ American I have always felt welcomed in the sport and have enjoyed playing across the U S . Taylor Made is a strong representation and supporter of golf ,I play your clubs and enjoy that fact . I urge you as a company to not allow this sad individual to continue to wear your logo.
I am outraged at the comments your representative made regarding fried chicken and tiger woods. No one of African descent nor anyone with human dignity should have found those comments funny. It was clear to me that those remarks were meant to deride Tigers African heritage. I am a taylormade/ Adidas person on the golf course but after his remarks I will strongly reconsider my brand loyalty. Sergio Garcia should no longer be sponsored by taylormade /Adidas. The look on his cohorts faces tell the story they all thought his racist rendition of chicken rarks was funny. Now it's time for corporate america to respond swiftly to this matter it has no place in golf. Sergio needs to spend more time working on his game than obsessing with Tiger Woods
To TayIormade/Addidas Golf Corporation,
I am a 48 year old African American and consider myself an avid golfer who loves the game. I am also the father of an 11 year old daughter named Taylor, who also loves the game. Regarding Sergio Garcia and his recent remarks I find the recent racist comments by Sergio Garcia disturbing, distasteful and very offensive. I personally find the fact that Sergio prominently displays the Taylormade Brand Name in interviews to be a cause of discomfort for me given that I have invested heavily in Taylormade Brand Equipment since taking up the game. Over the past 2 years, I have spent in excess of $3,000 on golf related purchases with most of it on Taylormade Brand Items. Burner Superfast 2.0 driver, woods, hybrids, irons, wedges, putter and iron head covers for me. And, Superfast driver and woods, R9 irons & wedges, Ghost MA-81 G Tour putter, cart bag and iron head covers for my daughter. All of which I was extremely satisfied with. However, given Mr. Garcia's insensitive comments I am questioning continuing to support the Taylormade Brand.
I hope your corporation respects the diversity that exists in the world in general and in the world of golf specifically today. And I also hope that Taylormade values the continued support of African Americans and others offended by Mr. Garcia's tasteless comments... support that we are questioning at this time. I trust that you will do what's appropriate and sever your sponsorship relationship with Mr. Garcia immediately. This move would make good social sense, and of course, good corporate sense as well. As it would send the message that the Taylormade Brand supports diversity and has zero tolerance for Racism.
Regards,
A Taylormade Customer
I am contacting you after viewing the comments made by Sergio Garcia in reference to Tiger Woods. I am an African American male and have become a huge fan of golf as well as my friends due to Tiger Woods participation in golf. The comments made by Sergio were without question a "racist" remark. He knew this before the words came out of his mouth. Fuzzy Zoeller made a similar comment about fried chicken and if I remember correctly his sponsor, Kmart, dropped him immediately. I hope as a responsible company that does not tolerate racism drop Sergio. There are many other golfers that will wear your name with dignity and respect. Please take some type of action and not condone this matter. Some apologies are for appearance only and too late. Thank you for reading my comments.
