Original Comment The food at this location 029166 in Bessemer Alabama has improved so much that we want to eat here one or two times a week. However, today, the manager (reported to be an S. Johnson) was rude to us senior handicapped folks. My wife was cold account of the restaurant keeping the dining area too cool. Others were cool too including employees one who said she never came to work without a jacket as the manager kept it so cold. In the past I politely ask the staff if they would adjust the temp as some of the gals in the dining area were too cool. They did no problem. Today, The casher seemed scared to respond when I ask her this and turned looking at a fairly large black man making food. He shook his head nooooo and said he wasn't going to change anything! I said in the past others did as the gals were cold no problem. He then said not to day, he was in charge! He then claimed if he adjusted it would freeze up or break it or something crazy like that. Does he think I'm stupid? I'm a mechanical engineer. Turning the temp up to allow the dining area to warm will certainty not freeze a unit up! This man is not manager material. He is a racist and an overall not nice guy! Some of his employees seem scared of him. One made out like she didn't even know his last name. Claimed to be new. If he treats handicap people and his employees this way imagine the way he treats regular folks! He is in violation of the Americans w/ Disabilities act of 1964, which is a violation of the law. Another employee eventually told us his name was Shanties Johnson or something like that. We are still in shock being seniors that Taco Bell would have a manager in charge that is not customer friendly and overall a rude non-caring person seniors especially handicap folks. We would like to continue to eat here but not likely if this guy continues to be rude to us. Thank you!
