Original Comment If you want to see pure incompetence in action, just call the dispute department and talk to one of the investigators. I had a fraud situation and the investigator called to discuss. He started interrogating me and acting like I was the criminal. It took them over a month to investigate and then denied my claim even though the merchant allowed someone to use my card number and sign with a completely different name than the one on the card. This is still on-going. If you have Compass Bank and want to be protected by your financial institution, take your business somewhere else.
