I have never experienced such horrible customer service with a large retail company as Macy's. I have shopped at the Macy's store at Lenox Square for my entire life even back when the store was Davisons. I have been a loyal patron for over 50 years and am shocked at the total disregard one of your managers has for customers who pay her salary.<br /> I had purchased over $230 worth of work dresses a couple of weeks ago for my daughter who's pregnant, even though you offered no maternity clothing. Unfortunately the dresses didn't fit so I returned them for a store credit that she can use for baby clothes. I received a card and a receipt showing the credit to give to my daughter at her baby shower this weekend. <br /> I continued shopping in your &quot;Backstage&quot; department and as I was checking out, I gave the card to your sales clerk and asked if the credit could be divided onto 2 cards and she was unsure and called her manager over. The manager was rude and stated absolutely not so I paid cash for my items and even applied for your credit card.<br /> When I got home, the card showing my store credit wasn't in my bag, only a temporary cardboard card to use until I receive the permanent credit card I applied for last night. I began calling your store as soon as it opened this morning for fear that someone would certainly take and spend a store credit card if it was simply lying by the checkout register. I was guaranteed that the manager would call me back immediately. I waited until 3:00 and called once again as she had not bothered to phone me. I even called her department as the direct line was given to me. The gentleman who answered my call even asked if I had called earlier. He seemed shocked that the manager hadn't gotten in touch with me but assured me that he would find her and make certain that she returned my call as soon as he located her.<br /> It's now 10:37 at night and she never cared enough to look by the cash register for my missing card and devote 2 minutes to return my call.<br /> I don't have the money to give to my daughter for her baby shower and desperately need the lost credit. I have the paper receipt but am still worried about the missing card. I am on very low disability payments and without that card... have no gift for my daughter's baby shower.<br /> I had explained this to the people who had guaranteed me a call back today. I am shocked that Macy's would give a management position to someone with such poor customer service skills! <br /> I can guarantee you that the new credit card I applied for is headed straight for the trash when I receive the permanent card. I worked in customer service my entire life and know the importance of caring for customers as without our business, your doors will be closed permanently.<br /> I would greatly appreciate it if someone in your corporate office would help me with this matter as your &quot;manager&quot; in the Backstage department is incapable of performing her responsibility to your customers..<br /> So disappointed in the severe decline of my lifelong favorite retail store.
