Bought my Dirt Devil 4 months ago, the cord began to peel exactly where the two holders are when you wrap up the cord up, it is defective. I am always careful with my home appliances and had another vacuum for 7 years (different brand) with zero issues. It still works and I gave it to a family member. I bought this one after rescuing a second cat, as it is for pet hair. The vacuum is heavy, but I was willing to put up with that for clean carpets. I cleaned the filters two times a week and vacuum 3 times a week. The company refuses to stand behind the product even though a faulty power cord is downright dangerous. I have been accused of RUNNING over the electrical cord (being called a liar basically) even though I told them I did not. I always vacuum with my right hand and hold the cord in my left so as NOT to run over it - how do you run over a cord when it is behind you? 4 months I have had this vacuum and now it is not operable. Very very disappointed in this company and product. 4 months, I am writing to the FDC, Consumer Protection, Attorney General and BBB!
