I like to pay all of my bills through my bank's free "Bill Pay" system. I always did this with Medco so when Express Scripts took over Medco I called Express Scripts to get the appropriate address for my bank to send my payment. Unfortunately, the staff at Express Scripts is woefully not trained to relay accurate information so the address I was given was wrong. I have finally realized what has happened after I had been without my blood pressure medicine for over a week. This is all over $10.00. Obviously the bank check has not been forwarded to the correct address (if it is even a Express Scripts address)so rather than cancel the check (which would cost me $30) I am sending another check - this time a personal check - via snail mail. Not very professional - the people that answer the calls are all very nice & polite, but they are really poorly trained and the info you get is not necessarily correct. Since this experience, I would never consider allowing Express Scripts to deduct directly from my bank account and I am not sure if I will have to bother with personal checks & postage fees or if I will attempt to pay them via my bank again. How unprofessional can you get? So there you have it - a $10.00 unpaid bill, not blood pressure meds for however long it takes to get this straightened out - has anyone who has some authority at Express Scripts done the math on what kind of law suit could happen over this if the patient has a stroke waiting?
