Someone called with the wrong apt # and my power was going to be disconnected. No one with Duke Energy checked with me (by a phone call with a security question) to verify I had asked for the power to be disconnected. Since I am on auto pay and had to open a new account, Duke Energy is making me pay year end charges in one month. I was advised that I could change the due date but would incur a late fee. Really? Because the meter was read, I have to pay. Okay. This aside, someone scratched my new car today, I have a toothache to be dealt with at 8 am tomorrow, and got an incorrect lunch order at drive thru. The customer service tech with Duke Energy said when she thought the call was disconnected, "She's crying. Can you believe this?" Wrong, Rudy-tooty. It's only been a day compounded with things that have went wrong. This was the icing on the cake. Duke Energy, you need more sensitive customer services reps. I am in public service and I would be fired if I treated customers this way. I asked for a supervisor to call me and two hours later I am not holding my breath.
