We rented a car from Thrifty at the Seatac, WA location. When we arrived at the counter, there were only 3 employees helping customers in a line 15-20 people deep. While standing in line, we overheard a customer ask how much adding an additional driver would cost and the employee quoted him $1.00. We were surprised but thought maybe they were having a special. When we finally got to the counter, we got the same employee who quoted the $1.00 charge for an extra driver. Just to be sure, we asked him again how much it was and he quoted "$1.00" so we added myself. We had a long drive ahead of us and wanted to share the driving. After signing off on everything, the receipt printed and we picked up our car. Warning to all-check your receipt BEFORE leaving the counter! They had charged us $11 per day for an extra driver! I called customer service and was told that since we had signed for everything (though you can't see it on the screen) we couldn't get a refund of the extra $40 we paid. I even asked for a supervisor and was told she couldn't authorize a refund either. They don't care about making you a happy and repeat customer at all! Their employees are giving out wrong information just to make a buck or they're poorly trained. Maybe they make a commission on all the "extras" they are slipping under our noses. If anyone in the corporate office cares about making this right, then I'd consider renting from them again. Let's see if they care enough.
