Original Comment My family and I paid for two nights to celebrate my daughter's 7th birthday. Upon inspecting the room we complained about a fowl odor. They said it was due to vinegar they used to clean with. We went out to eat &amp; I took my three kids and husband out to eat. I also bought a Grayco pack and play , play pen. As I was told they had no extra baby or roll away beds. Everything we brought to the hotel was brand new in big space bags. As I had heard on the news bed bugs could be an issue in many hotels. We came back to the room and showered after swimming. We proceeded to put the kids to bed. Since everybody was tired from a long day. My husband and I watched a movie and started to fall asleep . Despite the odor in the room ... even after somebody finally came in to spray some kind of &quot;odor nuetralizer&quot;. We were all awaken by loud noises coming from the room next to us. We called to complain and they said nobody was staying in that room. We continued to deal with what sounded like partying teenagers and banging on the door that connects the room from inside. This went on until 4:00AM! The front desk sent somebody to check after countless complaints. They found people partying in the room next to ours. They somehow got into the room without paying, or being noticed by anybody besides us. Then we asked them to check and make sure the connecting doors were safe. As we could not sleep being worried for our children. When they opened the door on our side leading to the other door it was filled with pizza, beer bottles &amp; trash ! We finally fell asleep around 4:30AM. <br /> When we awoke .... Nothing could prepare us for the horror we would see!!!<br /> There were cockroaches everywhere. Sooooo gross ! They were up the walls, in the bathroom &amp; in our son's brand new play pen ! We went to the front desk to confront them. That man was the most ignorant person I have ever met in my life. He treated us like we must be lying! Then even when he saw the proof ... he treated us like it was our fault. Yet he just happened to have an exterminator at the hotel at the time !!! He continued to insult us and treat us like we were discusting ! Really ?! He told us we would have to check out &amp; we would get the money back for the second night since we would not be staying a second night. Then he proceeded to tell us it would take seven days or more to get the money back, that we just paid the day before !!! So, my daughter's birthday was completely ruined ! Upon leaving I had to throw away a brand new play pen. At this point I had 2 hours of sleep and was out $67.88 for the play pen, at least $78.00 for the first night and had to wait at least seven days for the second night's money( at least $78.00 ). After crying and watching my kids ball their little eyes out, and throwing away the new playpen due to bugs... I called the complaint hotline. I even let them know I had pictures &amp; video of the bug infestation! I also informed them I had a receipt of purchace for everything I had just bought from Walmart, the day we checked in. So the facts are ... They had an exterminator on hand, everything we brought to the hotel was brand new in space bags, and yet we are blamed for days inn in Portage, IN's bug problem ! Upon providing information, pictures and proofs .... We were guaranteed a full refund ! The first night &amp; playpen included. We were also told we would have a free reservation at any days inn of our choice to make up for our horrible experience! Well it has been two years, and seven days, and we have yet to be reimbursed anything ! I have called, but nobody calls back. This is by far the worst hotel &amp; staff ever ! To make things worse we stayed at your hotel 4 times in less than 1 year before all of this happened. We used to love days inn. Now we'd rather stay at dollar inn or country inn and suites ! Way better treatment ! Not a bug in sight ! I still have the photos &amp; video as well. If I do not recieve what I was promised I will go to NWI Times, The Health Dept. &amp; possibly Fox News ! I am sick of calling to get no more response or empty promises !
