Sony has lost its way. Customer service is simply beyond their understanding.<br /> <br /> I had a KDL55XBR8 for less then three years when in August I started getting visible LED stripping behind the picture. I called Sony they referred me to an authorized repair service. The man came and said the panel had failed and it would cost over $4000 to repair.<br /> <br /> I called Sony and they said they had an exchange program which would provide an equivalent replacement set for $679.00 plus tax. (Incident number E55342189) I accepted the offer and waited ten days before I started calling. They had no information. Then a few days later when I called they gave me a tracking number. When I looked up the tracking number to my horror I found they were sending an old KDL60EX500 a CFL tube screen machine.<br /> <br /> I immediately called and cancelled the order. I could buy a better screen new of that quality for the same money. The XBR is the top of the line so offering a Yugo to replace a Cadillac is simply insulting.<br /> <br /> I cannot tell you how much time I've spent on the phone with Sony and how bad a taste it has left for this company.
