My name is Latrise Hawkins. I visit the Taco Bell located at 1740 Sycamore View Road in Memphis, TN 38134 several times a week as it located directly across the street from my job. On September 25, 2014 I went over @6:44 pm to get my lunch (I work 2nd shift) and ordered a #11 with a Black Cherry Freeze. I made it the 2nd window the cashier took my card and processed the payment and then came back to the window returned my card and reciept and said Im sorry but the Freeze machine is down. I said ok I really didnt want a soda but you can just make it a Mountain Dew. She said ok, I said so what about the upcharge that you charged my card for the freeze I would like my money back. She said can I just give you a larger drink, I responded No because I wont drink all of the reg size I would just like my .30 cent back. She went to get the MANAGER Mel, who she came back to the window with accompianed by one of the cooks who felt as though it was of his concern as well and said Mam we cant give you the .30 cent back because you paid with your card. I responded by saying thats fine go in your drawer and give me my .30 cent back then. She sarcastically handed my card back to me and said "Really .30 Cent" i responded yes my .30 cent if its that easy for you to say then give it back Its not the amount of money its the principle of the matter you dont just assume that its ok to charge me for something that I am NOT receiving. The cook than felt as though he should have something to add and stated "Mam just calm down its ok, I advised him that I am talking the MANAGER NOT HIM, he should be behind the scenes not at the drive thru window addressing me. She then handed me my .30 cent and closed the window in my face. I made it window #2 and the young lady handed my food to me and I asked her for the manager's name she responded Mel at this time Mel came to the window "what she need" I said she gave me your name what is the cooks name that came to the window she stated "my name is mel you can call the 800# and again closed the window in my face. At this time I was upset that I left the lot thinking I am going to just that and got back to work and realized she closed the window and I still didnt get the drink that I didnt even want to begin with I went back across the street and there was a great manager whom name I did not get but she was light skinned, short and very professional who was very empathic and offered to make the meal fresh and gave me my soda. I advised her that wasnt neccessary I just did not like the way the situation was handled. Upon my leaving the cook was also leaving his ride was parked directly next to me and watched me to my vehicle as I got in my car he addressed me and I asked arent you at your job he replied yes I said than remember that and dont address me, he replied I was trying to help you out I stated NO, I didnt need your help he proceeded to talk as I SCREAMED, DONT ADDRESS ME - the young man that was there to pick him up yelled out the window Twan get in the car man, leave that lady alone! He did just that. I, because of this will NEVER visit this location again and will tell everyone of my 547 co-workers of the experience.
