Here in Massachusetts we recently had a ballot question as to whether a ruling by our legislature to automatically have the gas tax raised as the cost of living rose.

I found it totally disgusting to see AAA endorsing, on TV, this bogus ruling. It was done under the assumption that the monies would go to maintaining the 'poor condition' roads & bridges. Is the management of AAA so naïve that they would believe the monies would go to roads instead of going into the general fund to be squandered as the present 24 cent/gallon tax is?? Our 'administrative cost' per mile of road replacement is 4 times that of the national average (that means paperwork and inflated salaries & no blacktop).

It's time for the top Management of AAA to pay attention as to how state finances work and not blindly endorsing the 'better roads' hype -or- move on.
