DAYS INN PORT ROYAL 1660 RIBAUT RD, PORT ROYAL, SC 29935 April 1st 2015<br /> <br /> This Hotel was a NIGHTMARE to say the least! FILTHY IS PUTTING IT MILDLY! On entering the parking area we all got a sinking feeling this was NOT going to be the place we wanted to spend the night and we could not have been more right! On entering the Check In area there was no one at the front desk to greet us. Eventually a women came out of a back room with her mouth full of food and acting irritated that we interrupted her meal. She asked what we needed and proceeded to burp in our faces without so much as an Excuse Me. When I told her we had a Reservation she not so nicely said Check In is at 3:00 and we could not have our room. It was 1:30 and we were in an area we did not know. It would have been nice to be told a few places we could hang out while waiting but instead we were on our own. On returning there were people lined up waiting to get checked in. I overheard one guest ask why the Room was so much more than his last stay and he was told because of the Marine Graduation (which is why we were there). He told us the Rooms are usually $50. We paid $102.80. Nothing like taking advantage of people!<br /> <br /> We FINALLY got our Key. Drug all our Luggage to the room only to find out the Key did not work. Went back to the front desk and a maintenance man was called. He met us at the room and told us 'Oh you have to pull UP on the door handle, some work up some work down' After doing this and my husband pushing with all his might the sticky door opened. I wish it hadn't!! The musty smell hit us in the face. The Air Conditioner was rusted and the front cover was half off. The refrigerator was not running and all the knobs inside were missing. It was unplugged so we were afraid to plug it in. Our daughter went to the Bathroom and yelled out to us 'Wait until you see this!' The wall by the Toilet was splattered with God knows what? We didn't want to guess. DISGUSTING! The ironing Board was broken and fell forward into the Sink/Mirror area. The Blow Dryer did not work and when our daughter tried to plug hers in there was not room enough for her plug. The Shower Wall Tiles and Shower Curtain were covered in Black Mold and the base of the Toilet had Rust all around it. The entire perimeter of the room was thick with dirt and dust. It looked like it had NEVER been vacuumed. Now let's talk about the Beds. The VERY used Bedspread looked like they came from the 1960's and we could only guess what was on them. We pulled them down only to expose DISGUSTING gray dingy sheets. Our daughters had cigarette burns and ours had little black specs I was sure could be Bed Bug Feces. On further inspection we did not find Bed Bugs but still were not sure what the specs were. My pillow had some other women's Makeup on it. We all decided we would rather sleep in the car. We got on our IPAD to try and find another place to stay but the WiFi we were suppose to have did not work. My husband went to the front desk and was told 'Just keep trying HONEY' He told her the Router was not large enough to handle the load. Again she told him to just keep trying. We FINALLY got online to check for another place to stay but everyone was booked due to the Graduation that weekend. We slept in our clothes and covered our Pillows with our extra clothing. It was 85 degrees and as we could see at other Hotels everyone was enjoying the Pools. Ours wasn't even filled. No Work Out Room either. They did offer a Breakfast but with the FILTHY room we could only imagine what the Kitchen area was like. YUK! <br /> <br /> When booking this room I was told the Reservation is NON REFUNDABLE and cannot be cancelled or changed. Any other place we have stayed gives you a certain time to Cancel or Change a Reservation. This should have sent Red Flags up for us.<br /> <br /> This was VERY EMBARRASING as this was supposed to be a well deserved mini vacation for our daughter to see her son Graduate from Marine Basic Training. <br /> <br /> Days Inn has always been our GO TO Hotel but after this experience we will find it very hard to ever Book with one again! If this is one of your Franchises you really need to send someone to check it out. It is surely giving Days Inn a BAD REPUTATION!!<br /> <br /> Sincerely DISGUSTED,
