Original Comment We stayed a the Days Inn at 1144 Bush River Road in Columbia, SC for one night (April 11, 2015). The front desk person was very friendly. However, the building and the accommodations left a lot to be desired. Our room (#132) smelled of smoke. The toilet was very loud. There is a "dip" in the floor near the vanity and the sunlight shown brightly under the door. The chairs in the room were so dirty that we used plastic bags to cover them. To top this off there is a dilapidated portion of the building on the back located by the pool. One can see that it is being occupied by vagrants. Upon our return that evening we saw numerous "strange" people hanging out in the back area. Concerned for our safety we had our phones on speed dial for 911 in case we were approached and placed the larger of the dirty chairs behind the door once we entered the room. Needless to say we did not have a good night's rest. I have stayed at other Days Inn locations and the accommodations were ok. This location needs to be closed or renovated especially for safety issues. We will not stay there again.
