5/17 Red Rock-Gallup NM. Military seaman headed from Ca to TX for a funeral. Booked the room on hotels.com. Was told upon booking the hotel showed to have indoor pool, free cont breakfast and no pet fees, so should be perfect for our family. GREAT! NO issues until check out time. Was told since didn't pay $10 pet fee when arrived, would be charged $100. Called hotels.com and was told that was a fee the hotel would collect and wouldn't be charged upon reservation. Reminded them we were told no fees. They agreed to credit $10, but not the point. They called the hotel, spoke to the manger who said they were very upset and they didn't charge anything to us because we didn't give a credit card for incidentals. Hmm... How did my credit card get charged then??? Desk clerk extremely unprofessional accusing us of not being able to read the sign that states the pet fee policy, asked if we were dumb, not able to read, blind. They asked is this how we raise our kids. Said was going to charge the credit card that was given for incidentals the $100. I told them they were not going to charge our card, that we didn't have a problem paying the $10, but they weren't going to charge $100. Desk clerk picked up the bell and started waiving it in our face saying they were going to charge it and if we didn't leave, they were calling the police. Told them we were not leaving until this was resolved. Police were called and the desk clerk told them we assaulted her. Said they had it on tape (of which all they had on tape was all the actions of the desk clerk). Owner came out and also said they were going to charge the card. What a minute, the owner told hotels.com she was extremely upset because they didn't collect the credit card TO charge us!! Can this place not get their story right????<br /> This hotel is the most unprofessional place I have ever been to. Not only will we never stay here again, depending on how this is handled from here, we may not stay at a Days Inn ever again either.<br /> I called my bank and explained the situation. $10 had been charged and if anything else went through, we would have to go through a dispute process.
