My parents and I stayed in the Days Inn Hotel in Sikeston, Mo on June 1, 2021. We asked to see a room before booking it due to my parent's disabilities. The gentleman at the front desk said to wait there and he would be right back.<br /> <br /> When my father and I looked at the room, it smelled okay, like someone had just sprayed room freshener. <br /> <br /> We went back to the front desk and paid for the room. We returned to the room with our luggage. <br /> <br /> We left and went to dinner. When we returned, it was little bit musty. I put some drinks in the fridge located in the little room/closet in the room. We all went to bed. <br /> <br /> When woke up, the smell wasthe smell was unbearable. It was coming from that closet. <br /> <br /> My mother started vomiting. I got extremely nauseous and started gagging.<br /> <br /> It smelled like something had died and was rotting. Whatever kind of dog it was, was locked in that little room long enough for the smell to permeate the walls and carpet.<br /> <br /> We tried to hurry and take showers to get out of there as soon as possible. I let the water run for 10 to 15 minutes. It never got hot. So we just got dressed and left the room.<br /> <br /> As I checked us out, I explained the situation to Melissa at the front desk. Let me first say, that she is the one good thing in an otherwise horrible experience at this hotel. <br /> Melissa asked me to write to you. <br /> <br /> I believe that the gentleman in charge of the front desk at the time we came in, sprayed enough room freshener to mask the smell to get us to take the room. This, to me, is unacceptable and should be investigsted.<br /> <br /> I believe my parents should be refunded the entire stay.
