Original Comment My mother (89) and I went shopping at Belk in Tuscaloosa today around 1 pm. We shopped around and selected our purchases and then began the hunt for an open register. We looked by the jewelry section, the shoes, the purse section, pretty much everywhere. We hit all four corners of the store. We finally found one register open. ONE in the entire store. When we arrived at the one open register, the line of customers was about 8 people deep. I looked at my mother, who was already tired, and asked her if the items were worth the wait. She said no, so we dumped our items and left. If this is your business model, it's pretty sorry.
