Original Comment My Bank of the West personal checking-savings banking experience is the worse nightmare I ever had. They are not able to make international transfers as soon as you are in the foreign country. They also laid about their ability to make such transfers. I notify Culver City, CA branch in the months in advance about my several months trip in Europe. I also notified them about my possible relocation into EU. I asked about making international transfers from my US Bank of the West checking to will be my European Swedbank checking accounts. I asked about this transfer three times while I was in Culver City banking branch. All Culver City bankers insured me that I will not have any problem with transferring money while I am in Europe. But Culver City, CA branch manager simply locked my checking account along with my debit card when I asked her transferred the money in Europe. She told me I have to fly back to Culver City from Europe in order to do this transfer. The corporate office representative first told me that he is very surprised with inability Culver City manager handle the international transfer when I am out of US. He promised me to educate Culver City manager, and told me to wait for the emailed forms from Bank of the West. I wait for four days. But no one emailed me. The same corporate manager responded that I should contact Culver City branch only, not him, that only Culver City branch will decide how to help me. I called Culver City. The branch manager, Christina Fields, told me that she cannot help me with international transfer. She also told that she locked my debit card and checking account leaving me with no money in the foreign country. As soon as I filed the complain with Better Business Buro, my problems were taking care off. But I stay without money in the foreign country for almost a week. I got seek and cannot pay for the doctor. It was just I said, the worst nightmare banking experience in my life.
