Original Comment On July 30, 2014, an AT&T representative came to my house promoting U-Verse services. I already had U-Verse internet and phone, but my television was Direct TV satellite. I was not aware at the time that this person was a third party salesperson, and I will not use her name in this public document; however I will share it with an AT&T representative. She said that she could offer me the same price I was currently paying for all my services if I bundled everything with AT&T. She wrote an order that charged $198 for AT&T bundled services plus $16 for HBO. These charged were to remain in effect for 24 months. I was paying $139 (which included tax) for my AT&T services plus Direct TV. She assured me, and wrote in the order, that AT&T could give me a "Promotion" of $75 per month which would bring my charges to $139 plus tax. The offer also included a $150 gift card. The service was installed today, and I discovered, to my dismay, after speaking with numerous AT&T representatives, that the order I signed would not be honored by AT&T because apparently the salesperson was not authorized to give that promotion. The AT&T representatives I contacted today made me an offer, but it does not include the $150 gift card. I have accepted the offer just because I've wasted too much time already trying to get this situation resolved; however, I am very concerned that apparently AT&T lets third parties, in AT&Ts name, write orders, but the written orders are not honored. I am disappointed in AT&T and will be VERY cautious of any future offers and/or promotions. The AT&T representatives, both on the phone and chat line, were courteous and attempted to be helpful and did give me an option, but the issue was not resolved to my satisfaction.
