Original Comment United Healthcare Supplement.<br /> Do anyone realize that United Healthcare is automatically denying Testim and / or Androgel for seniors? It seems ironic that the commercials show couples being active and having fun when this company is trying to significantly limit and deny seniors access to this medication. Let's face it, men may have a testosterone decrease in later live as Seniors. It simply isn't just for libido. Other factors include significant fatigue, sweats, and mental confusion.<br /> <br /> United Healthcare guideline now insist that men using a testosterone gel stop using the gel for 2 wks, have 2 lab test one week apart and &quot;prove&quot; to them that the testosterone is necessary. Problems with stopping testosterone supplement include mood swings, panic attacks, nausea, sweating and may include severe depression, as well as the permanent inability to naturally produce testosterone. Would you want your significant other to have to go through this and possibly incur permanent physical damage? <br /> <br /> My husband and I will not be using United Healthcare as a supplemental insurance not just for this reason but due to the possibility that they will arbitrarily decide to remove other medications that we depend upon. We can't afford to gamble with that possibility. <br /> <br /> Thought that AARP was a voice for seniors when ours alone can't be heard. I write this in the hopes that others will benefit from this information.
