After repeated correspondence of a poorly documented damage claim by the Avis licensee in Anchorage, I finally acquiesced and agreed to pay the claim. Pls always thoroughly ck for damage, including a close inspection of the front windshield for any indication of pits or pitting. Pls note my observations below related to a Damage Claim and be sure:
1. "Date In time" is accurately and truthfully entered on your "Vehicle Check In Report - not indicated on any of the copies Avis provided
2. "Time Inspected" is clearly shown in any copies provided to the claim recipient since the Avis "first" copy did not clearly show the "Time Inspected" as it was poorly copied;
3. An appropriate "Dispute Resolution" procedure is followed as
"an undocumented, unsigned disapproval of a dispute conveyed in a "form letter" that does not provide clear reasoning for the denial of a dispute - and in this case "no" statements justifying disapproval - is not a clear, specific and justifiable "dispute resolution procedure" for denial of a dispute."
4. A "clear" photo of the alleged damage is received since the one Avis provided most recently and in the first Avis correspondence was "blurred and distorted showing nothing distinguishable" as damage;
5. A photo shows a "direct relationship to the alleged windshield crack and the vehicle I rented such as a photo showing the front license plate and the crack in the same picture" with a person pointing to the alleged crack - This is not rocket science to assure your claim recipient has a clear picture of your alleged damage claim;
6. You receive accurate and truthful information as described above to avoid misunderstandings requiring repeated accusations at great inconvenience and cost to you that are unnecessary; and hopefully maintain your loyalty as an Avis customer.

There is no evidence by Avis to support my alleged windshield damage occurred during the time the vehicle was in my possession or during the time of my rental. The alleged loss could have very well ocurred prior to my rental - unidentifiable by an Avis employee upon inspection prior to my rental or by me from my inspection prior to taking possession. "A small pit or crack in a window would not likely be visible upon an inspection until it moved over time into an identifiable crack."

Service, friendliness and loyalty were honored and cherished unlike what was/is experienced today from this Avis licensee company. My loyalty to Avis has existed for over 50 years, including being an Avis First and long-time Preferred Customer. As a consequence of the improper procedures and actions as the Avis licensee or the inaction of Avis Corporate to preserve my loyalty, the loss of Avis revenue by renting from competing agencies in the future from my friends and me will far surpass the $328.25 paid for the alleged crack.
