In July 2015, the Matriarch of my family presented me with the Kenmore 10-Cup Food Processor 219103BLK as a birthday gift. I am trying to start a local catering service, so she thought it would be helpful and time saving. To my surprise on September 20, 2015, I was using it to grind down vegetables and it suddenly caught fire. I quickly unplugged the unit and threw a wet cloth over it to douse the fire and smoke. I immediately took the processor outside for safety and left it there. On Monday, September 21, 2015 I called the corporate head quarters at. After being transferred to several extensions, I finally spoke with James??, who took down my information and promised to have someone call me back. To date I have not received a return call or any sort of correspondence regarding this unsafe product. I am totally disappointed in Kenmore not only for their faulty and dangerous product, but also their lack of concern for what I've gone through. This situation could have ended much differently hadn't I been the one using this machine, not to mention, my elder family member is utterly disappointed to have spent her social security money on what she thought would be a wonderful gift for me. For generations our family have used only Kenmore products. Given my recent experience coupled with the lack of concern for such an important circumstance, I will now reconsider Kenmore products in the future.
