Made reservations for the Days Inn on Arsenal Rd. in York, Pa in advanced for business purposes. Arrived at Hotel and Lobby was very shabby and outdated. Went to use restroom and the doors were opened to both Men's and Ladies rooms, sinks ducked taped, floor tiles cracked and ripped up...as tho they were remodeling, but yet, allowing public to use. Hallways to dining area and meeting rooms were missing wall panels in some areas and wires exposed. That should have sent up a red flag regarding rooms. Rooms were outdated, sink plumbing exposed, rooms not cleaned very well and there was a Horrible, Sweet, Sickening, odor in room. My husband and I wedged a garbage bucket between door as to let in fresh air from outside.....thinking cleaning lady went a little HEAVY with air freshner. After an hour or more, you could still smell the odor. Went to front desk to ask for another room that did not smell and was told that ALL the rooms smelled this way from the air freshner that is used by cleaning staff.Front desk staff did not seemed very concerned about this. My husband has allergies and I don't, but neither of us could tolerate the odor. I called Expedia and cancelled remaining reservations at that hotel and was issued a refund. Breakfast was also a joke...STALE cereal, STALE danish, bread for toasting and toaster was broke, yogurt and apples. Only good thing was the waffles. Definitely will NOT be recommending this hotel to anyone.
