I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer and dryer on 5/30/16. A week before Thanksgiving the washer stopped working. It didn't move past the sensing, the washer would fill up with water then not advance to wash cycle. I contacted customer service and waited 3 weeks for a service appt. On Dec 9, 2016 the Whirlpool service tech replaced the lid lock and the machine was working again; for 2 weeks. I scheduled another service call and the earliest appointment was 12/30/16. At which time the same service repair man replaced the control panel and check the tub for leaking water. He ordered a new air hose. The was not working when he left. He followed up with a service call on 1/12/17 and replaced the air hose. The washer still does not advance beyond sensing. He was here for 1 1/2 hours. He spoke to his technical supervisor who told him the dryer electrical circuit was interfering with the washer. I have had my washer and dryer side by side for 36 years without incident. At that time the service tech Carlos told me the washer was non-repairable and would contact the company for a replacement washer. I spoke to Customer Service who advised me that I was not eligible for a new washer as I hadn't bought an extended warranty for the washer. In my 42 years of marriage I have not had another washer serviced. My previous Maytag Bravos washer lasted 14 years. There are only my husband and I now, so my wash loads are much smaller than they were when we had our 3 sons living home. I have had to go to the coin laundry twice a week since Thanksgiving. I have received and email and mail asking us to extend our warranty. I guess the replacement policy is that if I spend more money on an extended warranty, our lemon washer would be replaced. If it was a new car that had to be serviced 3 times for the same issue, we would be protected under the lemon law. I have a Maytag gas stove and dishwasher. I would not consider a Maytag appliance again. I hope this reaches the proper channels as going through customer service and the customer service supervisor Michael have not brought me any resolution to my non-working 6 month old Bravos washer
