Where do I begin on this experience at days inn & suites( 12013 North I-35 service road.. NE 122 st. & exit 137)Oklahoma city, OK 73131. I have never felt so aggravated and worried when staying at a hotel. we are from Texas on a road trip. Extremely tired from driving and decided to stop at this hotel around 11:30pm.It was clean inside which was a plus. My husband and I stepped outside at 1:30Am to unload our bags while our 2 kids slept. Quickly turned around and realized we left the van keys in the room.Little did we know that using our room key card wouldn't work. We tried more than several times. We went to the office and the night staff gave us another key card to try. That card didn't work either and no lights on the magnet reader. I wouldn't be as worried if my 2 young kids weren't sleep and locked in the room by themselves. She tried the maid access key, the main hotel key and no luck. She told us to try and wake up our kids to unlock the door because the deadbolt was probably on. The deadbolt inside the room was not on ,the battery on the magnet reader died .We banged on the door and window trying to wake them . Of course our kids are knocked out sleep( Long road trip and it's 2:something AM at this point) she offered another room for us to sleep in without our kids which are 2 and 6. I declined because who leaves young kids in a hotel alone overnight . I asked her to call the room while we continue to bang on the door. She went to call and returned to say the phone doesn't work in the room 128.At this point I wanted to call the fire department to get to my kids. I kept asking how can I get to my kids. She then made a call to the owner which was 20 minutes away. He come our direction where we were standing/ waiting to get let in. He was rude and made us feel like it was our fault the magnet reader wasn't working. He tried a key which I believe was a different key then previously tried by his own staff. He got the door opened with a main key but not the card. He told us to stay in the room and only one person out at a time. Seriously?!?! That's not what we paid for. We were never given our keys back due to the hotel door malfunction . When checking out came AMY offered $15 off the room. I wasn't satisfied at all. My kids were locked in a hotel room for almost 2 hours and the phone wasn't working and 15 off is the best offer. Eventually she went 20 to 25 dollars off for the room. Still unhappy with the hotel not caring about the safety of the occupants. I asked AMY for the corporate number and she told me if I call corporate she was taking her discount back. Wow, really very professional. We paid what was needed for our two rooms and left. I wrote this long review for others who decide to stay with kids. Be prepared for your kids to be locked inside alone if you step outside with the hotel key in hand. The best they give for your fear and safety is 25 %off for their malfunctioning door and non working phone. What's so hard to comp the room for the HUGE inconvenience. You guys offered up another room which doesn't make sense when all our stuff and kids were inside the other room.We had two rooms 124 and 128. The other one was fine and I understand full price for that. Very disappointed and will never stay here again. I will definitely write plenty of reviews on different platforms to inform what type of nightmare this place was.
