Shame on this RYOBI. So without a receipt or proof of purchase even though the product is under the manufacturer's warranty you cannot get your product repaired without it. So for example if the item was a gift just like the item I am complaining about is under 2 years but by the serial number it shows it is a 2019 model but they will not honor the warranty due to no proof of purchase or receipt. THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE. WHY CANNOT A COMPANY SUCH AS REALBY JUST STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. Well I will never buy again I own two backpack blowers one gas one battery many other tools such as their drill accessories and so on. I've called twice on my issue and ask for manager or supervisor they transfer you over to one and all you get is a voicemail and you never hear back after leaving numerous messages. WELL I'M DONE.. MY NEXT STEP IS BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. So I worked for an electronic company as a customer service rep for about 5 years and there was plenty of calls where customer mentioned it was a gift and there was no receipt or proof of purchase however we would accommodate them by sending a one-time authorization letter if the serial number fell within the warranty period. WHY CAN'T RYOBI DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. Well I'm done venting and I'm done with this company as well as everyone I know I will tell them I hope you have your receipt or proof of purchase if they own a Ryobi product. JUST TERRIBLE,....
