On March 30,2023 my husband and I were returning home from the University of Iowa Eye Institute. We arrived in Grand Island Nebraska around 10 P.M. I am blind and travel with a dog guide from Guide Dogs of America. We were turned away from the Comfort Inn because the man at the desk said the pet room was occupied. We told him that this dog is not a pet and by law we can not be turned down service in this public place. He told us to go across the street and try there. I was angry and humiliated but because we were tired and due to the late hour and the fact we had another day of travel, we did not do what we should have to handle the matter. Rather than call in the police to confirm the law we left.<br /> Being blind is made difficult by the ignorance of employees that are employed by companies like yours. It is obviously is not of any importance for you to give the training of the assessibilty law. I carry my dogs paperwork and the law with me. I am a firm supporter of companies like yours to be fined for not following the law.
