Original Comment Today I visited the Duane Reade in Fresh Meadows, N.Y. I visited to purchase a lunch bag and was advised to review the 90% end of season items to find a lunch bag. Surprised that I was able to find a nice bag for my son and such a nice selection, I picked four bags. Unfortunately, I was checked out by Sumith, a cashier who believes he is Duane Reade. He refused to give me the items for 90% off. He told me a couple of the bags were already marked down, so I would get the bags for 50% off the sale price of $8.99. After disputing this with him, he conceded and gave me the bags for $1.79. He further made miscalculations in favor of Duane Reade for the other 2 bags. I really felt he was insulting my intelligence and deliberately attempting cheat me. There are many stores to patronize and fortunately for me, money is green...it's accepted everywhere. I will tell my friends and family to stay clear of that particular store!!!!!Sumith also refused to provide me with the phone number for Duane Reade's corporate office...but he became quite pleasant once I requested the phone number.
