I rented a vehicle from Avis Budget Italia from 8/4-8/26/2014 with and prepaid the charge on 6/4/2014. At first they did not want to recognize the fact that it was prepaid, but finally relented. We drove the vehicle without incident for 3 weeks, dropped it off at the Rome Airport with no hastle and flew back to New York.

Beginning in November I notice 8 charges from Avis Budget Italia for 42.70 euros each (about $53.00 each- that's $424) on my credit card. I only received 4 written Invoices from Avis advising that they have charged me a service charge for having to report contact information i.e. my name and address to several Italian Police municipalities for traffic violations that I had no idea I allegedly committed. I have already paid 2 fines directly to the municipalities for entering a "restricted street" in Monte Argentario for 86 and 110 Euros or $225, but continue to get charges from Avis Budget Italia. This is rediculous.

Firstly, I do not like the idea that Avis gave up my name and adress for these alleged violations, secondly 42.70 euros is quite a significant sum, and thirdly it seems to be a racquette. Avis and my credit card bank cannot stop thes charge. Why? This could go on forever. I am not using Avis ever again.
