I live in El Cajon, CA. My experience with AT&T has been generally good. Their customer service has always been exceptional, at least in their attempts to serve me. Where they fell short was infrastructure. Their broadband lines just aren't capable of performing the basic level of service that has become standard in the communications industry. They only offered "Uverse" as an internet option, but because their lines can't handle the bandwidth, they had to set up my phone line on a completely different account, adding to monthly expense and hassle. Their internet service wouldn't handle more than 220 kb/s downloading, meaning that many things too literally days to finish. It was consistent and reliable however. I almost never suffered significant disconnection issues.

I'm with COX Cable now. Their customer service is inconsistent. I suffer numerous disconnects per day. My DL speed is better than the UL speed of anyone I pull from, so performance is amazing when it works, and the DCs *usually* don't get in the way of anything important. They're a bit more expensive too, and I really don't like being locked in a contract.

Ultimately, I wish I could have service from both, at a vastly better price, merged together, to have the performance and stability at the same time, along with consistently high quality customer care. I suppose I should move to another country for that :(
