This place is a joke. I called to have my gas hooked up to my home and they automatically signed me up for a home protection plan that I didn't ever ask for. Funny part I asked who signed me up for this and they stated it was confidential. Ummmm you can't sign people up for stuff they didn't ask for. Then on Facebook messenger they stated they have a voice recording of my husband authorizing these charges. I was with him when he signed up and not one time did I hear him state yes I would like a home protection plan. Secondly, it was started on the separate bill for dates before we even moved in. I have never been so disappointed in a company trying to rip people off. I spoke to Derek Singleton that stated he would make sure and take care of this as did the 61 people and 72 hours of phone calls prior to speaking with him. I asked for his supervisor and was denied as he was the highest person who I could speak to. My question is Jerry Norcia is the CEO but doesn't want to hear from customers about how his company is trying to rip people off. After speaking to Paul #ACS0130, Jamesia, Jaime #PRO0189, Robin who stayed "do not treat me like a baby" and freaked out on the phone as if she needs mental health treatments. Greg # E62035, Chamar # DarO0204, DRO 0208 and many more employees that refused to give me their employee number or name when asked. All I asked for was to deplete the home protection plan off my account and out of my name and they tell me it is taken care of but then I get a bill for December 2019. Now I have a bill for January 2020 but Derek Singleton credited 13.83 leaving a 2.13 bill on the account as I have screen shots. Apparently they have to lie and keep people on this home protection plan scam so they can make it look like people consented for this but tell them they deleted the account but never do. I spoke to someone through messenger and they stated it was taken care of in December 2019, if so why did I get a bill for January 2020? Also, I logged in online and seen that they still didn't delete this account leaving a balance of 2.13 to keep it open. Originally I was billed 15.95 for January 2020 and I called again and waited for Derek Singleton to call me back, apparently you have to wait 48 hours for this. When I asked for a letter that this account was a zero balance and closed they refuse to give you notifications. When I asked for a corporate headquarters on call me I didn't receive a call. Online through messenger it states I am at a zero balance and the account is closed but online it shows I still owe money for this home protection plan I didn't ask for. I don't think people are aware that DTE Energy is signing them up for this plan that they never asked for. Leaving people vulnerable to collections or older people just pay it not realizing it is a separate account and bill for something that they aren't receiving. If you call the home protection plan line they don't answer or it hangs up automatically. They have no address, CEO or a person to contact to eliminate this service people don't want. So I called DTE Energy and they told me it is a separate entity. It's a scam and no one asked for that so stop signing people up for stuff they didn't consent to. You really need to make it more customer friendly to speak to someone that knows that they are doing. If a company refuses to send a letter that you didn't ask for the account and it is closed on a zero balance but they refuse so it sounds like a scam waiting for a class action. Now Malaysia called me to speak of this issue and telling me it's now a zero balance but every month they tell me that until I get a bill for this HPP. I asked for a letter stating this was deleted and a zero balance and they refuse. How can a company order something you never consented to? I can't believe this as I asked for a letter so I have notifications if in the future they decide to go to collections because I refuse to keep calling over this issue. What a joke and monopoly this place is. No other way to get natural gas other than DTE.

to whom it may cocern i cant stand dt with a passion i went down to one of the locations on gratiot 4 times no one help me at all ihave issiue which you guys strted in the first place i have service at another address in my name at locations that shouldnt been in my name at at this point im about to call 2 4 7 nd problem solvr this not the end of me i will be heard its a shame that none help you guys pay supsivors for nothing they dont know what they or how to address a issue at all

I have been fighting for over four years on a bill this not my bill i have filed a law suite against DTE over the matter. I have been hospitizaled three time over the matter had a stroke and high blood pressure due to that medical condition i had to have my left foot amputeted due to a blood clot from the stress and medical conditions. It's CRAP how you get treated by the workers

After Being Blatantly Lied To By 'all' Dte Employees I Have Talked To, Not To Mention Your Joke 'animated' System, The Truth Comes Out.
This Poor Guy Has Been Working Alone, And When I Asked What Happened To All These Other States That Are Here Helping I Was Advised That 6 Guys Showed Up One Day And Never Again.
I Called 20 Mins After My Power Went Out Because I Know How Dte Operates. I Was Told By The 'animated' System It Would Be Restored By Saturday At 1130pm, Then Sunday 1130pm, Then Monday 1130pm, Then Tuesday 1130pm, Now Its Thursday 1130pm. How Insulting. Do You Really Think That The Public Is That Ignorant?
Back To The Poor Fellow Who Actually Was Working, He Was Not Even Aware That There Was An Outage, And He Stated That Dte's System Went Down. Why Doesnt Dte Own Up To It And Admit It? He Shared A Lot More With Me And Another Gentleman Who Approached Him, But I Think I'll Save That For The News Media.
It Would Benefit Dte More To Tell The Truth Rather Than Teach Your Employees To Lie.

Hello Ben A DTE customer 4 many years he had the worst experience of my life when they came out to change meter from indoors 20 tour of driveway porch grass flower beds left back door wide open they had many supervisors out and only got a bunch of excuses from: them 2 days ago d came out 2 fix driveway sad 30 foot repair after I ask about the damage 2 my porch and approach the cement company was told by A supervisor 2 only repair ah small portion off driveway so I put in a complaint and 2 more supervisors showed up and told I was lucky to get the repairs I did I wish I could find a nother Supply Company ahole out more but too much 2 right DTE stinks thank you

My bills are always paid on time. I have never had a shut-off notice or a late payment: but today I have NO POWER. I am the only one on the block and in the area with no power! Customer Service employees are very curt, uncaring and down right rude! There is no storm damage in my area. The meter is not responding. Customer Service state my home is on a different link from my entire block and neighborhood. How is that possible? It appears that DTE has erroneously shut-off my power! I was told by DTE customer service to "call in the morning." I need my computer for an online 8:00 AM interview for a promising job position and my power is out causing me not to be available for the second half of my interview. I am thoroughly disgusted with DTE.

I had my first experience with DTE on February 11, 2014 after 42 years of being a valued customer (can someone give me DTE's definition of VALUED). It appears their employees are being trained with the assumption that every individual living in the city of Detroit are common thieves. This is my first time not being able to make their shut off date. They turn off my electricity at the pole and not at the meter. I questioned them as to why and the response was "do to the area in which you live, people steal electricity by having someone other than DTE restore their service". Remember the key words "I have had service on for 42 years without any interruption". To add insult to injury, lied as to why they had not been back to restore my service. I paid the bill on February 12, 2014. They cancelled my appointment to restore the power until Monday , February 17, 2014. I told them the temperature in my house was registering 33 degree and I could not stay there in the cold for another 3 nights, she told me to find a homeless shelter. They used the excuses of my gate was lock or my dog was out, I don't have a gate nor do I have any animals. I was then advised the weather was to bad the weather had been the same as the day they disconnected it.

I have a complaint with DTE services I have been calling since October of last year. my meter is making a loud noise and I have called in and every time they say they coming they never do I also was informed that out four times they said they was coming they cancelled it from inside never gave me a reason why they canceled I took off work one day.when I receive letters in the mail stay if my bill was behind don't worry about it because they trying to investigate the problem with my meter and trying to solve the problem but they never told me my home protection plan will be cancelled. I don't understand the service that DTE C provides for the city of Detroit and its poor service lack of communication and I need someone to get back in touch with me as soon as possible thank you very much and God continue to bless you all

To whom it may concern,
The Church of the Resurrection has been in the business of calling the electric and gas meter readings to Detroit Edison and Michicon for years due to our members not having the confidence in the utility companies to do an accurate reading. Ninety percent (90%)of the church membership is over the age of seventy.
June of year 2013, DTE requested the church to allow the utility to install a new electric meter with new technology for remote meter reading capacity. The writer convinced the church membership to allow DTE to provide the new system for cooperation in having a technician read the meter each month. Since July, 2013 the church has been getting estimated readings due to faulty equipment installed by DTE. We have tried unsuccessfully to have DTE meet with a member of the church, to make repairs at the site no less than ten days since July, including today. At least forty percent (40%)of the time DTE personnel don't arrive during the time element DTE committed. Other times the technician has no idea what he/she is there to perform.
It is frustrating to have a company that we as consumers must count on to do the work DTE should provide, in a timely manner and all we get is window wash. DTE executives should treat consumers better. Our legislators in the great state of Michigan, who allow any and all price increases to DTE for favor of campaign funds will be called out in the future.
The Church of the Resurrection deserves better from the utility. So do all the consumers at the mercy of this large utility.

I Hate Dte energy company I wish someone shut there ass down for destroying community and people lives with these high as bills they charge the people.If I had several wishes I could make it would be get out there heads I hate every last one them that control the whole dte energy company they need to pay for all the damages and pain they cause.My heart ache on how they did my deposit and then rise my bill.How ever what goes around will come back and sometimes it comes hard!

Dte Is A Horrible Company, They Deserve To Be Shut Down...they Make Detroit An Even Worse City...they Dont Take Care Of Thier Business And Thats A Bad Look..i've Been Trying To Talk To Someone About An Outrageous Bill I Recieved For 3 Years And I've Never Even Had An Account...i Call Atleast Once A Week, Sometimes I Get A Live Person After Sitting On The Phone For Almost An Hour And They Say They Cant Help...i've Been Told I Will Recieve A Call That I Have Yet To Recieve. I'm Fed Up With The B.s. Dte Is Putting Me And Fellow Detroiters Through.. We Need Help...do Something

I recieved an ami meter after opting out over 2 months ago, and it still got installed, was told it would be removed some time ago still waiting,now family members are getting ill, dte will pay dearly for this.get it fixed now!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried to get you on the DTE Web, but I see the website for DTE has changed. Furthermore when you call the main telephone number that is listed and ask for your office, Bob will not tranfer the call. He will not take a message, but he do have a fowl, disrespected mouth for the public. I know you don't want someone like him representing DTE. I don't know if you know that the public hates DTE. What are you doing to correct this problem? Yesterday, your company turned off a senior Citizens, who is 88 years old, Ms. Alberta Neeley at 60 Stevens St., Highland Park, Michigan. How would you feel if this was your mother? Mrs. Neeley has been working in the community for some time and now she is a victim of DTE. Your company just recently got some Federal funds to help some people and Mrs. Neeley's name was on the list for the second time. We need for you to take a stand for Mrs Neeley and turn her utilities back on today. I hope your staff will give you this email, so you can help with the situration and Mrs. Neeley may be able to get some sleep tonight. We are hoping you will do the right thing. Remember, you may be 88 years old one day.
