I want to register a complaint regarding my recently purchased Troy Bilt Brushcutter, TB42BC. this is my second purchase of this model. The first one I purchased in 2017. It lasted until January of 2024. This new one was purchased on 5JAN24. Unfortunately, it lasted only about 2 months and approx. 5-6 uses.
I have always used the correct oil/gasoline mix as I did on my first one. I was told by the authorized dealer that the breakdown was caused by not enough lubrication to the engine even though I used and have always the right mix.
I was told by another authorized dealer that would always be the response that I would get.
I have a 2018 Mustang 54 zero-turn mower and a self-propelled push mower.
I am appealing for some relief and fairness in this matter. Customer service has basically said too bad.

I just bought a brand new Troy bilt 42 inch pony lawn tractor. I put the steering wheel and seat on it and hooked up the battery. Tried to mow with it yesterday but the deck was vibrating so badly it scared me. I parked it and looked underneath and the deck belt was so loose I have no idea HOW it stayed on.I called customer service 3 times...each time the "kids" basically read from the owners manual or a script of potential problems and advised me to take to a service center (the nearest is 50 miles one way). I was told to try leveling the deck...I tried but the adjustment for the front of the deck would not budge. The seat tore up as well...(The very first day of use). I found bolts holding the left rear axle so loose they were almost falling out. I can not find ANY way to tighten the belt at all. Some at customer service say some are tension belts and some are not...No one could tell me if mine is one or the other (I can slip 4 fingers between the pullies and the belt so THAT doesn't seem good. I'm basically left on my own with the vibration problem.MY truck is down and I have no way to haul it. MTD tells me that they only honor the warranty at selected service centers and have no techs who come out to service their products. This company is the WORSE I have ever dealt with! Things that were supposed to have been done at the factory weren't so now here I sit!

I got a weed trimmer from home Depot online used only 2 times the recoil broke had hard time to find repair person to fix 50 miles from home and got back pulled cord once it cranked then went to crank to use a minute later and the same thing happened again and sent emails and call with no response from them will talk to a lawyer this company is awful don't buy anything from them ever

My Troy-bolt pony is defective. The deck cannot be balanced. It is gouging on the right side and ruining my lawn. I acquired this pony from Home Depot last august after my previous tro bolt pony did the same thing. They are defective.

This is the WORST COMPANY I have ever dealt with. I am on hold right now while I am writing this waiting on a man name Bradley in customer support to come back to the phone. I have been waiting on hold for 33 minutes now while he place a call to Woods Equipment in Pearl. I have been trying to get my lawn mower repaired since 08/24/20. It is still not repaired. This company DOES NOT CARE ANYTHING ABOUT IT CUSTOMERS. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM TROY BILT PRODUCTS. I AM STILL ON HOLD.

i hope that no one will do business with this company. their customer service department is rude will lie to you and in my case cancel my order with my knowledge. i ordered a bagger from troy bilt on 1 july 2020. i used my visa debit card to order the bagger. with in hours of my order troy bilt charged my account for 374 dollars and 49 cents. not a problem. the web page said i will my product with 5 to 6 days. this bagger is on backorder so on 7 july 2020 troy bilt hit my card again for 374.49 causing me to be overdrawn in my account. waiting for over 5 hours to chat on line with someone because every time i got down to the fourth position the chat would kick me out. so i spent the next 2 hours on the phone waiting to talk to customer service. when a agent got online they were rude and told me that troy bilt does not charge till the product is shipped and that every 5 or 6 days troy bilt will send out pending transaction to my bank for the $374.49. come to find out troy bilt is supposed to cancel the first hold on the money before they hit it again. i called the headquarters and the operator acts like you are calling the cia because they cannot put you in contact with any manager of customer service or any other office. when i got to talk to a manager named Phil he told me to contact my bank because troy bilt has not received andy money from my account and to call him back after i talked to my bank. well i talked to my bank and found out that the money is in troy bilt account waiting processing and the bank said every time troy bilt hits my card they will put it in hold for troy bilt. well i called this liar named phil back and he refused to talk to me but not only that after he told me he would keep my case open i find out he canceled my order. this al capone company still has my 374 dollars and 49 cents and they have 5 days to return it to my bank according to my bank. think about this people before you buy any product from al capone company called troy bilt. they will take your money within hours but take 5 days to give it back to you even after they cancel your order with out having the common courtsey to tell you. if you have a problem with any product or order expect to wait hours for a rude person to talk to you and if you complain they will cancel your order and lie you the whole time. please stay away from this company worst custormer service in america

To whom it may concern:

I am a 70 year old woman and so, thinking that a small cultivator would be perfect for me to handle, 3 years ago I purchased a Troybilt 4 cylinder Cultivator for a small garden in my yard.

It was used once, cleaned and stored for 2 years in my insulated shed.

Today, my son in law got it out to prep my small garden area. The tines would not rotate. At all.

I paid, I believe, approximately $300.00.

My son in law took it to a well established mower repair shop.

They are quite knowledgeable about the Toro brand. They have had several customers bring in a cultivator like mine with the same problem.

The gears that manipulate the tines are plastic and don't last. They could repair, but the cost is more than the value of the cultivator.

My son has the same cultivator, same age, that he said was in good working condition. He hadn't used it yet this year. It was working when he 1st started it up and to no ones surprise, it seems to have the same problem.

The tines froze up. He brought it over to help me and surprise,

One time use at $300.00 is rather high priced.

Sadly I don't have the funds to replace it.

Troybilt used to be a great product and name and stood behind their products when they were owned by Garden Way.

On June 17th, 2015, A Troy-bilt Electric Leaf Blower Exploded While I Was Blowing Off The Driveway. I Sustained Multiple Injuries From The Debris From The Explosion. I Am Having To Have Multiple Surgeries And Will Experience Moderate To Extreme Physical Pains, Mental Anguish, Physical Disfigurement And Disabilities For The Rest Of My Life. It Is Due To My Personal Experience And In My Opinion I Would Not Recommend Troy-bilt To Anyone, Ever!

Do Not Buy Troybilt Anything. It Is Junk. I Purchased A Troybilt Super Bronco Riding Mower From Lowes August 2016. I Was Lied To About The Brand Of Hydro-static Transmission In The Unit By Troybilt. Lowes Said Troybilt Warranty On The Transmission Was Good Until August 2019.......provided This Information To Service Guys Who Contacted Troybilt And They "troybilt" Refused To Honor The Warranty. Never! Ever! Buy Anything From Them

I thought Troy Bilt made a quality product, NOT SO. I have a TB 360 walk behind mower, Model TBABD3DZ711 that I purchased at our local Lowes. I have used the mower for 4 summers. While cutting grass on Wednesday 10/10, the mower suddenly stopped and the blade control cable was popped out of the Premium drive control handle. The area where the cable hooked to the handle had broken and pulled free damaging both the handle and the blade control cable. Not surprising since the are where it fastened is cheap thin plastic. If would have know of this feature I would have looked at another product. Now I know why our Lowes does not sell Troy Bilt any longer.

I have recently bought two Troy-Bilt mowers, they are listed below:

TB230 Model 12AVB2A3711 632475 Serial 1E028K31191 with a Briggs and Stratton engine model This information I thought you should know both of the engine threw a rod (connecting rod that is). I called and spoke to a representative and they wanted to sell me new eengines, but I declined. I figure they should be replaced by Troy-Bilt to keep your product name in good standing. I did order parts to try to repair the 104M02 engine, but the crankshaft was bent after I had reinstalled the connecting rod and the cam for that engine. The briggs engine 09P702 is still in tact with a hole in the side of the casing. Please let me know where you stand or your thought on these issues. Thank you.

2018 BIG RED TILLER !! Safety issue concern: I'm working with a gentleman who called me with the following information. I'm doing my best to interpret the situation. The issue indeed exist but my wording for parts of the tiller may be different than what they are. Here it is... "The tiller has a safety device (Interlock switch) that may be missing and will allow the unit to start with PTO engagement. The instruction is to hold at least one of the handles depressed. This will allow the unit to start normally, but if the interlock switch is missing when the handle is release it will continue to run. If that is the case please use extreme caution or best not to use the unit until the interlock switch is installed. You can visually follow the wiring down the handle tubbing and you would notice a plug that appears not being used. That would mean the Interlock switch is missing. In short PTO engagement is the tines turning and if engaged they could start turning when the unit is started allowing the unit to move on its own toward something or someone. My explanation may not be completely actuate but my concern and diligence to warn is. Please check you unit for the missing interlock switch and contact the manufacture. God Bless and be safe... les

I Used To Think Vert Highly Of Your Products, But No More!! I Bought Of Your Riding Lawn Mowers, A "bronco". It Was Delerived To My Home And I Thought It Looked Great. So I Put Some Gas In It And Started Mowing My Yard. I Have Used My Mtd Mower For 29 Years On My Yard. No Problems. But, When I Was Cutting My Front Yard For The First Time With Your Bronco As I Was Cutting Where There Was A Small Grade The Bronco Turned Over On Its Left Side With Me On It. I Was Very Lucky! All I Got Out Of It Was A Sprained Ankle. Never Again Will Think Of Troy Bilt As A Good Product!! You Need To Have Your Engineers Recheck The Weight And Balance Of Your Bronco!!

If I had it to do over again I would have NEVER purchased my Troy Built 3100 PSI pressure washer. This has to be my worst experience ever with Troy Built. The unit is less than 2 years old but has been out of service at least 3 times. And try to get someone to take ownership and responsibility to help in getting resolution. Troy Built blames Briggs & Stratton, Briggs And Stratton blames Troy Built, Lowes Home Improvements (who sells Troy Built Products) could care less about your troubles. All I ask is for Troy Built to take responsibility and "FIX" my unit under warranty. Am I as a consumer asking too much, by the way I am being treated it seems as though I am. I think it is time to take this to the media and see if they want to get involved.

As A Valued Customer Of Lowes 2yrs Ago I Purchased A Tb625ec String Trimmer, After Six Uses It Failed. The Small Plastic Dogs That Catch The Pull Start Assy. Sheared Off. I Have Yard Equipment Ive Had For Over 15yrs That Still Operate With Minor Maint Problems. Companies In America That Produce Consumer Items Such As This Must
Step Up Their Game. As A Retired Disabled Veteran And Faa Mechanic I Will Not

It appears that there are more negative comments online about Troy Built products than positive. Is there a trend here that the products don't perform as well as they should and corporate is willing to give up the consumers that have problems with the product rather than help them get help for the problem.
It appears the corporation philosophy is to sell their products and let the consumers with defective items suffer the wrath of the Troy Built customer service and box store run-around to exhaustion( I am one of them). What a way to built customer loyalty.

I purchased a Troy Built rototiller less than a year ago from Lowes, after 2 weeks I returned it due to faulty parts. I received a new one, which also does not work correctly. Per several phone calls with customer service I was told to take it to an authorized dealer since it is still under warranty. According to the repair such which is your authorized agent the machine still does not work correctly. He contacted customer service and was told that the parts that it may need are not covered under warranty and that I should take it back to Lowes-this is not possible as more than 30 days have passes. I am extremely disappointed with troy built and customer service. I feel that it is Troy Builts responsibility to either fix the defective machine or provide me with a full refund. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER TROY BUILT.

I recently purchased a new Troy Built riding mower. From the start, the engine "surged". I changed the fuel filter and added a can of Sea Foam, but there was no improvement. The business where I bought it said to bring it back because they had a technician on staff and would work on it. So far though, I don't have it back. But that is not my immediate complaint. Before taking it back I changed the oil and oil filter. Both were major tasks because neither can be easily accessed. The drain and filter are located so that only with considerable effort can the oil be drained or the filter changed. It seems that a company like Troy Built would make these very critical necessities easy to accomplish.

To whom it may concern,

Hello, my name is Allen Kinman. On the afternoon of Wednesday, June 17th 2015, I was using a Troy-Bilt Electric Leaf Blower(Model Number TB197BV) to blow off the driveway. Good morning. Have place an order for a Troybilt Big Red and furrower/hiller attachment. Seems the attachment is delayed until August. Seems unreasonable. Order placed under Need to hill potatoes before August, for sure. Please expedite and call me with questions at same number. Phil and Joanne in customer service are excellent. Have now spent hours waiting for CS to answer over the last three days. While typing this, I have now reached Bill who is checking on th back order. Bill promises to call back tomorrow moring.

I have a 21 inch self propelled tory bilt with Honda engine that ran fine three times. now it starts but runs rough and eventually stops. the choke doesn't work well and it runs as though it's rich or starved for fuel. I can't use it so will junk it.

I also have a new troy bilt 2700 psi pressure washer also with a Honda engine that I used once. now it won't start at all. I've changed the fuel and plug and it still won't run.

I threw the troy bilt trimmer in the trash when it stopped working. I just don't have the time nor inclination to mess with troy-bilt anymore. I'll be dumping this junk I have and buying something else with proven reliability.

when my garden tractor stops running, that will also go the way of my other troy-bilt equipment even though that has been the one and only exception to the frustration experienced with other pieces.
